Hunt: Showdown begins the third Confiscated Cargo weekend on 22 August at 08:00 UTC. The window ends on 24 August at the same time. During this period, Confiscated Cargo Crates have a higher chance to appear at Strongholds.

A guaranteed crate can also appear at the new Crashed Balloon point of interest. The location is not shown on the map. Hunters therefore need to observe the environment while still tracking enemy movement and the normal match objective.

The Crashed Balloon contains several possible rewards

Players can find a random scarce weapon, another random weapon, Hunt Dollar purses, ammunition and a Confiscated Cargo Crate. The exact value changes with the current loadout and the danger around the location. Reaching the balloon first does not guarantee a safe collection. Other teams can hear combat or notice movement. Hunters should clear nearby lines and prepare an exit before opening the area.

The point of interest is not marked on the map. That makes visual knowledge important. A team that finds it should communicate the position with a clear landmark instead of assuming every member has seen it.

Extra rewards may cause an unnecessary fight

A crate is valuable, but the main match still has its own objective. Chasing every possible reward can leave a team far from cover or the next required route. Players should compare the reward with their present equipment. A well-equipped hunter may gain less from a random weapon than a team that entered with a limited loadout.

Time is another cost. Searching a wide area can allow another team to take a stronger position. A short search with a defined limit is safer than wandering without a plan.

The weekend schedule helps teams plan their playing time

The increased chance lasts for forty-eight hours. Players in different time zones should convert the UTC start and end before arranging a group. The event also has later cargo weekends. Missing one window does not require a rushed session. A player can choose the period that fits normal play and avoids fatigue.

Official announcements remain the best place to confirm changes. Maintenance or a corrected schedule can affect access, and an older community post may not include the latest notice.

A safe extraction lets players keep the rewards

Finding a crate is only the first step. A team must leave the exposed area, survive later contact and extract. The reward is lost if the squad takes an unnecessary final fight and fails to reach extraction. Hunters should check ammunition, healing and escape routes before moving. The player carrying the most valuable equipment does not always need to lead the next push.

The cargo weekend adds a reason to explore, but Hunt: Showdown still rewards sound, patience and controlled risk. Teams that treat the balloon as one option rather than the only goal should make better decisions.

Sound can reveal the balloon location before players see it

Hunters approaching a Crashed Balloon should stop and listen before entering open ground. Gunfire, movement and disturbed animals may show that another team has already reached the area. A quiet location is not automatically empty.

Useful supplies can change the route through a dangerous compound.

One player can watch the likely approach while a teammate checks the rewards. Standing together near the crate gives an enemy one clear target. After collection, the team should leave by a route with cover. Returning along the exact approach can be dangerous if another squad heard the first movement and prepared an ambush.

The unmarked location rewards observation, but sound remains one of Hunt’s strongest information tools. A patient thirty-second check can protect equipment that took much longer to find. The squad should decide who takes each reward before opening the area. A hunter with little ammunition may need the supply more than the player who found it. Quick allocation reduces the time spent standing near a known point of interest. It also prevents two teammates from competing for the same item while opponents approach. The last decision should be based on the team’s condition, not on the promise of another reward. Hunters with limited healing or ammunition can leave after a successful collection. A team in a strong position may continue, but it still needs a protected route and a clear reason to accept another fight. This simple check keeps the event objective inside the normal extraction plan.
