PUBG Mobile 4.4: complete guide to Roman Empire event & Centaur boss - Image 1

PUBG Mobile is not going to give up its position in the genre of mobile battle royale. Update 4.4 — beta has already been launched, the full release is expected in June 2026 — Krafton and Level Infinite are launching a large-scale themed event in the style of Ancient Rome. The map turns into ancient ruins with gladiators, statues of legionnaires and mythical bosses. Not just cosmetics, but a full—fledged game mode that competitors don’t have.

What does the Roman Empire event look like in PUBG Mobile 4.4?

Visual changes are the first thing that hits the eyes. Erangel (and other supported maps) are transformed beyond recognition: sandy arenas, destroyed columns, fragments of statues. The sky above the event area takes on a characteristic dirty yellow hue – dust, an antique storm, the feeling that you really got into a dying empire. Greek motifs, temple buildings, mythical creatures — the developers have mixed history and mythology, and it works.

The Centaur Boss and the Arena: how does the main 4.4 update mode work?

The highlight of the update is a separate combat zone that appears right during the match. At a certain point, a special arena opens on the map, which any squad can enter. Inside, it’s not just a fight for survival. First, you need to break through waves of opponents and solve mini-challenges, and only then opens the final battle with the Centaur, a giant boss from ancient mythology. Squad coordination solves everything here. It resembles the legendary Bloody Castle, but with a much higher bar in terms of dynamics and team chemistry.

The winners receive serious loot: exclusive skins, titles, and weapons. According to beta data, there are unique rewards that are not found in any regular match.

Statues of soldiers and interactive challenges

There are statues of Roman legionnaires scattered around the map, each hiding a mission. The difficulty varies: some are solved in seconds, others will take time and ingenuity. The rewards range from regular loot to rare tokens, temporary boosts, and skins. Players are already actively sharing statue locations and ancient riddles in communities. The classic mechanics of PUBG Mobile, but in a completely new setting.

What else will the 4.4 update bring?

The Roman event overshadows the rest — but it’s not the only change in the patch. Dinosaurs are returning, a melee knife will appear, collaboration with Blue Lock will start, and weapon skins will be upgraded. It’s a solid selection, but it’s the gladiator theme with the boss fight that takes the update to another level.

PUBG Mobile 4.4 is not an ordinary patch with a couple of skins. This is a statement: we still hold the crown of the mobile battle royale. Beta is already available — collect squads, sharpen your skills and prepare for the ruins of the empire. Rome is waiting.
