The parade of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks is gaining momentum with each passing week—and it doesn’t look like it’s stopping anytime soon. While some fans are still rewatching recent footage of basketball and police chases, the Cyberleek group has released its second video in 24 hours. It features Vice City at night, shootouts with security guards, and a new gameplay nuance that hadn’t been noticed before.

This time, the video is about a minute long and shows a nighttime drive through the city, which visually significantly surpasses anything Rockstar did in the fifth game. City lights, reflections on wet pavement, dynamic lighting—even in a crude build from 2024–2025, the imagery looks impressive. Protagonist Jason steals a police motorcycle and tries to evade pursuit, then gets into a street fight in a neighborhood of homeless people camped under overpasses. But the most significant thing that caught the community’s attention was the addition of a new “surrender” button to the interface during standoffs with the police. Apparently, the developers decided to add a peaceful way to resolve conflicts with law enforcement, replacing the inevitable “Busted” option that has haunted players since GTA III. A detailed analysis of the interface reveals that the wanted level now features additional options, which could significantly change the gameplay strategy.

What else was shown in the new video?

In the leaked clip, reworked melee animations were noticed. Jason can now use melee weapon finishers, use hand-to-hand grabs to stun opponents, and even knock riders off their motorcycles with a running kick. The knife fight now features significantly more animations than in Red Dead Redemption 2, including that same backhand slash that was glimpsed in the second trailer. Incidentally, killing enemies with a hunting knife is more difficult than in RDR2—apparently, the developers rebalanced the weapon.

Other details we saw in the video:

  • Zombix pills restore health, but the effect weakens with frequent use—a tolerance system is in effect.
  • 8 weapon slots and 2 healing item slots—a separate medkit wheel, separate from the weapon wheel.
  • “Greeting” and “Taunt” options for NPCs have been confirmed—like in RDR2.
  • Being near homeless people can anger them and provoke a fight.
  • Fast food restaurants are open again—you can restore health with more than just medkits.

Map, ending, and hacker threats

In addition to gameplay videos, a map of the game world—the fictional state of Leonidas, modeled on Florida—has leaked online. It features five counties, and the scale appears to be vast—significantly larger than that of GTA V. Rockstar has already begun issuing DMCA notices and removing the material, which many see as indirect confirmation of its authenticity.

GTA 6 city reconstruction

But the situation is escalating. Cyberleek now claims to have not only gameplay videos but also a complete build of the game, as well as the ending. The group mentions a file called “Lucia Ending”—one of the possible endings involving the heroine Lucia. The hackers threaten to publish it unless Rockstar apologizes and meets a number of demands: cancel digital pre-orders without a physical edition, stop selling “fake” single-player DLC, and provide offline patches in case of server outages. Cyberleek explains its actions as “protecting gamers’ rights” and protesting the digital pre-order policy. The group also hints at further leaks and warns that it may target other major publishers.

What’s next: official reveal and release

Meanwhile, the official GTA 6 gameplay demo is just around the corner. Rockstar will show 20 minutes of gameplay on Netflix on August 27 at 10:00 PM Moscow time. The video will appear on YouTube the following day, August 28, at 4:00 AM Moscow time. The game itself is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

How long this leak parade will continue and what exactly we’ll learn about the game before the official reveal remains a mystery. But one thing is certain: Rockstar has never experienced such a wave of leaks a month before release. And it looks like Cyberleek has no intention of stopping.
