On July 31, 2026, fan modder Silent (aka CookiePLMonster) released the largest update yet for his iconic SilentPatch for the classic GTA trilogy on PC. Along with hundreds of fixes—from cosmetic to crash bugs—voice lines, which had been gathering dust in the code for over twenty years due to simple typos, were reinstated.

“Another patch” should not be considered ordinary. This new feature affected all three games, and its scope exceeded anything the author had done in previous years. The refinement even touched mechanics that were considered “port-specific”—for example, CJ’s shooting with both mouse and keyboard. It turns out the voice lines simply were not triggered due to a poorly written condition: they were tied to the gamepad, not keyboard input. This has now been fixed, and the game finally behaves as the developers intended. Incidentally, former Rockstar technical lead Obbe Vermeij has already commented on the patch’s release on social media, admitting that some of the bugs were indeed in its code. Coincidence? Unlikely.

In short: SilentPatch has received new builds for each game—Build 10 for GTA III, Build 12 for Vice City, and Build 34 for San Andreas. The latest, and largest, version fixes over 150 issues, restores over 100 voice lines, and adds compatibility with modern OS versions. The patch is already available on GitHub, and installation is as simple as copying a couple of files via ASI Loader—but there are a couple of nuances we will cover below.

Major SilentPatch Fixes in GTA San Andreas

Reinstatement of 100 Unused Voice Lines

The main feature of the update is dialogue that previously either did not play or only played under certain conditions. For example, CJ now has voice lines when shooting with the keyboard—they no longer need to be activated with a controller. Pedestrians now discuss the weather, and criminals shout something when escaping. Bandits taunt you when you capture a district, and cops announce encirclement or call for backup. But the real kicker is the Ammu-Nation salesman: he has over fifteen lines written for the heist scene, all of which were previously unused. Now they work. It’s clear—this isn’t just a list, but a real layer of live audio that adds depth to the game.

Technical Fixes and Rare Visual Bug Fixes

In addition to voiceovers, the patch fixed a ton of visual and gameplay issues. Lens flares and heat haze are now scaled to the screen resolution—no more pixelated patches at 4K. NPCs now use sniper rifles and RPGs correctly, the police no longer fire like gangsters (it looked very strange), birds appear where they should, checkpoints face the right direction, and you can park your boat in your garage without risking crashing. And yes, the legendary bugs have been fixed: the red sky at 8:00 PM during rain (yes, that happened) and the explosion at Fort Carson caused by a plane that inexplicably appeared in someone’s driveway. This is evidence of how careless the porting process was back then.

SilentPatch Update for GTA III and Vice City

GTA III and Vice City have not been overlooked either. In GTA III, street gangsters finally stopped wandering aimlessly and standing still—they now march in formation, as expected. This bug even plagued the PS2 version, and it was only recently fixed. Vice City has a similar set of fixes, although the author is not revealing the full list. But judging by the build numbers, each game has received its share of love.

Step-by-Step Installation of SilentPatch 2026 on PC

You can download the latest versions from the author’s GitHub repository or from his official blog (silentsblog.com). Installation requires an ASI Loader—Ultimate ASI Loader or any other compatible loader will do. Simply place the patch files in the game folder, and everything will work.

System Requirements and SA-MP Compatibility

There is an important point here: the SilentPatch for San Andreas conflicts with the SA-MP multiplayer mod. If you are playing online, you should not install the patch—or, as some forum posts suggest, use the non-dev version of Widescreen Fix, which works around the issue. The patch also requires the game to be updated to the latest official version (the Steam version is fine). Overall, everything is standard.

Summary and the Main Value of SilentPatch 2026

SilentPatch 2026 is not just “another fix.” It is a refinement that polishes a classic game two decades later. And the fact that even a former Rockstar developer acknowledges its importance speaks volumes. If you are still playing the original trilogy on PC, this patch is a must. Download, install, and enjoy the game without cut dialogue or silly bugs. The legendary series is showing signs of life, and they are being presented in the best possible light.
