The Apex Legends pro scene is clearly not standing still, but is only growing. Another large-scale esports company has returned to the game, signing the Legacy Mexican team. They used to play for Luminosity, but now they are already glowing on the ALGS Battlefield page as Team Liquid Apex Legends.

In short, by the way, Team Liquid’s closest line-up is now as follows:

  • Saul “YanYa” Ocampo Placencia is the head of frags, has been skating in LAN tournaments for two years.
  • Luis Enrique “Neazul” Ramos Suarez is the brain of the team, always making the playoffs.
  • Alexis “Jaguares” Martinez is a jack—of-all-trades guy, fumbles for the meta like no other.
  • Steven “Pistillo” Rojas — trains them, comes up with all sorts of strategies.

The guys, along with their coach, have been at the top of North America for a long time. They played so well that when Luminosity kicked them for some cool IGL Sweet with a new team, everyone was blown away.

Ambitious plans for the upcoming game season

To summarize, Liquid returns to Apex and immediately aims for a direct course to the top. The guys want to take a LAN in Los Angeles. They say that leaving Luminosity only spurred the Mexicans, now they are generally tearing up and rushing.

Before leaving Apex in 2022, Liquid was a very strong team with character. They left because of finances – the game was not profitable then. The old line-up then moved to XSET and also played well. According to all the information coming out of ALGS Battlefield, Liquid is here again, and they have a familiar line-up.

Comeback Trend: Organizations Believe in Apex Legends

It’s funny, but Liquid isn’t the only one who’s been going in and out of Apex Legends lately. Spacestation Gaming in North America and NAVI in Europe have also returned to the ALGS, taking on some very good teams this year. It’s cool for the players themselves and for the competition to be healthy. All this shows that Apex as an e-sports is becoming more interesting from a business point of view.

Statistics: two years without a miss

The Liquid team has been doing well lately: They placed fifth at the 2023 ALGS World Championship, twelfth at the 2023 Split Two playoffs, and tenth at the Split One playoffs in the same season. YanYa and Neazul haven’t missed the LAN finals at all since ALGS returned to the offline format in 2022 – that’s two full seasons already! Such consistency is rarely found even among the best teams.

What can we expect from Team Liquid in the new split?

Team Liquid has always been great at various esports games, like Dota 2 or CS:GO. The fact that they decided to return to Apex Legends with the old Mexican cast suggests that large organizations are showing interest in this game. Experts believe that their strategy of actively controlling movements on the map and accurately conducting battles can greatly help them on Split One.

And if you consider that the Pistillo coach knows how to adjust tactics to the new rules of the game, the team has every chance to get into the top three in the regional qualifiers and gain a foothold in the top of the North American Apex Legends league for a long time.
