Capcom launches a new intellectual property — Pragmata. This is a third-person action adventure game about space engineer Hugh, who stumbles upon the mysterious android Diana. Together, they will have to neutralize the rampaging AI that threatens the orbital station and the entire Earth. The official release is scheduled for April 17th, but the exact launch time depends on your time zone and the chosen platform.

When will Pragmata be opened — schedule by region and platform

The game will be released globally on Steam at one point — at 12:00 Eastern time (ET) on April 17th. For Russia (Moscow), it is 07:00 a.m. on the same day. Below is the layout of the key cities:

  • The West Coast of the USA (PT) — 21:00 on April 16
  • London (BST) — 05:00 on April 17th
  • Berlin (CEST) — 06:00 on April 17th
  • Singapore (SGT) — 12:00 p.m. on April 17th
  • Tokyo / Seoul (JST / KST) — 1 p.m. on April 17th
  • Auckland (NZST) — 4 p.m. on April 17th

As for consoles (Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S), the logic is twofold. In the US, the release is synchronized with midnight Eastern time — that is, again, 21:00 PT on April 16. But for the rest of the world, the usual midnight launch is in effect according to local clocks. Is it convenient? Rather, yes, although there are nuances everywhere.

Release timing Features

Capcom traditionally does not indulge in a unified approach to console releases. Switch 2 and PS5 owners in Europe will see the Pragmata icon at midnight on April 17th, while gamers with Xbox Series X|S will get access according to a similar scheme. It turns out that the Americans were a little more lucky — they will be able to launch the game on the evening of the 16th.

It is worth noting Steam separately — there is no confusion here. The developers chose a unified global launch at noon in New York City. For fans of spoilers, this is a minus (in New Zealand, the game will open only at 16:00), but for the community as a whole, transparency.

What is known about the game itself?

Pragmata is a fresh IP from the studio that gave us Resident Evil and Monster Hunter. The events unfold in the distant future on a giant space station, where the central AI is out of control. The main character Hugh is a typical maintenance engineer, but with unexpected combat skills. His companion Diana is an android with her own secrets. The synopsis is reminiscent of classic science fiction with elements of horror: isolation, artificial intelligence, a threat on a planetary scale.

The first gameplay footage promises dynamic shootouts, platforming elements and an atmosphere close to Death Stranding — only without endless walking. Capcom is clearly aiming for an audience that misses single-player adventures with a clear plot.

The Pragmata preload is already available — how much does the game weigh on PS5, Switch 2 and PC

Preloading Pragmata

You can prepare for the release now. By pre-ordering on PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S or on Steam, you get the opportunity to download and install the game in advance. This is standard practice for large Capcom projects, and Pragmata is no exception. However, the amount of data varies depending on the platform.

On PC and current generation consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X|S), the game will take about 34 GB. For the Switch 2, the appetite is more modest — about 17 GB. The difference is two times. It is most likely related to less detailed textures for the portable mode and architectural features of the hybrid console. In any case, even 34 gigabytes looks very humane by today’s standards — think of some Call of Duty with its endless updates.

What is included in the Deluxe edition of Pragmata and how profitable is it?

The standard version of the Pragmata is priced at $59.99, while the extended Deluxe edition is priced at $69.99. The difference is ten. Is it worth it? The answer, as usual, depends on your attitude to cosmetics. Capcom has assembled a “Shelter Diversity Kit” in a Deluxe set, which includes:

  • Costumes for Hugh: “Loader” and “Moon Cat”.
  • Costumes for Diana: “The Creator of furs” and “Fluffy”.
  • A skin for the Grip Gun DS weapon.
  • Three musical themes for the Shelter (lo-fi, EDM, jazz).
  • Three additional gestures for Diana.
  • Art collection in the data library.

Some of the outfits can theoretically be obtained in the game itself by farming a special currency. However, the four suits from the Deluxe edition, judging by the description, will remain exclusive to the owners of the expanded version. If you collect skins and like to customize characters, an overpayment of $10 seems justified. If you only care about the plot and gameplay, feel free to take the standard edition.

Anyway, Pragmata remains one of the most intriguing releases of April. Capcom has ventured into launching a new universe in an era of total sequels and remakes — and for that alone, the project deserves attention. And the cosmic aesthetics in the spirit of classic science fiction adds points against the background of endless fantasy worlds. It remains to wait for April 17th and personally check if the studio has managed to breathe life into a fresh IP.
