Summit, the second season of the updated Overwatch, kicks off today at 2:00 PM in New York time. Blizzard, as usual, released a post with details, and it’s packed with interesting information: from the full Nintendo Switch 2 version to a new heroine and a whole bunch of cosmetics.
The main event outside of the season is a separate port for the Nintendo Switch 2. Until now, Overwatch on the Nintendo console has been running via backward compatibility, but now the developers promise full graphics, improved sound, and a true 60 frames per second in all modes. It’s nice to see the platform not forgotten.
As for Summit itself, Blizzard has really stepped up its game. First, Sierra will be joining the roster—her story arc is woven into the year-long “Talon Ascendancy” storyline. Operation Grand Mesa will follow immediately: three weeks of content, divided into four stages, visible directly in the interface. The event promises to expand on the heroine’s confrontation with the Talon organization. A pleasant surprise for fans of social interaction is the return of post-match voting. Now, after a battle, you can vote for the best player on your team, and the winner will receive a reward on a special results screen. An optional voice lobby for “civilized communication” with opponents is also being tested. We’ll see how long it stays civil.

A mythic skin for Soldier: 76 and a separate mythic skin for Genji’s sword.

Stadium mode update: Ramattra joins the pool, Juno will receive balance adjustments, and the Lijiang Night Market map will expand the battlefield. RocketKitty will join them mid-season.

New perk options for Ramattra, Pharah, Reaper, Soldier: 76, and Mercy.

The Sakura cosmetic set includes skins for Hanzo, Genji, Freya, Juno, Emre, and the Vulture Queen.

Collaboration with the band LE SSERAFIM: 15 skins for various characters.

A mountain of Battle Pass rewards.

The franchise’s 10th anniversary celebration is approaching midseason.
