Insomniac Games studio has upset collectors by officially confirming the lack of a physical collector’s edition for the anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine action game. Logan fans will not receive either a premium action figure or a branded DualSense controller — Sony limited itself to digital versions, pre-orders of which opened immediately after the new gameplay demo.
Why will Marvel’s Wolverine remain without a collector’s edition?
It seems that the publisher has decided to save on physical merchandise for one of its main blockbusters. Collectors accustomed to luxury boxes with status bonuses are sounding the alarm. Usually, major releases from internal PlayStation studios are accompanied by large—scale sets – with stilbooks, artbooks, and impressive figurines, as was the case with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Death Stranding 2, and Ghost of Yotei releases. However, in the case of the new Wolverine story, the publisher took a different path.
Directly on social media, the developers from Insomniac Games, responding to a barrage of questions from the audience, laconically cut off: fans will only have access to the standard edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Considering that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 released both the coolest action figure and a limited-edition DualSense gamepad, Sony’s current gesture looks as strange as possible. A potential Logan figurine with claws extended could have been an ornament on any shelf, but PlayStation marketers thought otherwise. There is clearly no reason to hope for a sudden change in plans — pre-orders have already been launched, and there are only a few months left before the release.
