Hogwarts Legacy fans have not been complacent for the third year now. Yes, the game was released in 2023, it is still supported by mods and add—ons – but people want a sequel. Avalanche Software is silent, and many people are running out of patience. However, a clue has recently emerged, and it is quite telling.

Famous youtuber WesNemo has unearthed something interesting. Now we have a guideline on the timing of the full-fledged announcement of Hogwarts Legacy 2. Moreover, fans themselves have been building theories for a long time: some dream of being transported to another era of Hogwarts, others — to return the old cast of characters. And apparently, it won’t be long now.

Warner Bros. hired a new community manager — the hint is transparent

Noticed on the Hogwarts Legacy subreddit: The franchise has a new community relations manager. The guy’s name is Cody, and his nickname is “Vakna”. Under the post with the phrase “oh, it can only mean one thing — it’s getting closer,” he succinctly replied: “What would you do that for?” and added a smiley face in thought.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 has been in development for several years now, and Warner Bros. seems to be preparing a marketing breakthrough. The moment is good — the studio is just rolling out a future Harry Potter television series. Its first season will be released later this year (a film adaptation of the first book). It is logical to assume that the announcement of the sequel will happen this summer.

Connection to the HBO series: fans against

Players are wondering: will Hogwarts Legacy 2 have anything to do with the series? Perhaps we will be transported to an era where Harry Potter either already exists or is mentioned as a legend from his childhood.

But opinions are divided. Some people want a direct sequel, with the return of familiar faces and the continuation of the story arcs. Others want the game to live its own life, without looking back at HBO.

“I hope this will be a continuation of the first part,” writes one fan. “I want to know what happened to Ann.” I want to do a quest at the Gaunt Manor. I want to learn more about Ominis. There’s so much more to come.” Another user is categorical: “If the game takes place decades after the first one, and Sebastian’s story does not receive permission, I will be very disappointed.”

Some people don’t want any connection to the TV series at all. “Apart from the life of Nicolas Flamel and Dumbledore’s youth, two storylines that could connect the era of the first game with the era of Harry Potter, there is nothing to connect,” they argue on Reddit.

Hogwarts Legacy has created its own world — and fans want to return there.

The game has created its own universe. Yes, not everyone got into it, but those who did want to come back. To find out how it ended. See old characters. Close the storylines.

Judging by the studio’s activity and the hiring of Vakna, the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy 2 is really just around the corner. The main question is: will the developers choose the path of a direct sequel or decide to create a new story within the universe in order to attract both old fans and a new audience of the series? Will see. Most likely, this summer.
