Developers at MADFINGER Games are preparing to release the fall update 0.5 for the tactical shooter Gray Zone Warfare, which will officially move the title from pre-alpha to a full alpha stage. The studio has already sold 1.7 million copies, and the latest patch will be a key step on the road to the final zone, Ground Zero, adding a base of operations, illegal contracts, and an expanded arsenal.

Main New Features of Patch 0.5 in Gray Zone Warfare
The centerpiece of the update will be the base, from which all subsequent endgame progression is built. The shelter will allow you to harvest resources and assemble modules, including a chemistry lab.
The lab will be the epicenter of new contracts:
-
Lab Rat: Starting assignments are focused on synthesizing medical morphine.
-
Vulture: A merchant will require shipments of substances for a dangerous transport across Laman.
-
Artisan: The character will ask you to reverse-engineer military equipment in a mini-lab to sell it on the black market.

Lamang Map Expansion and Gameplay Changes
The island’s terrain will become noticeably denser. Players will encounter a large-scale “Radar” facility with a tall tower and a network of bunkers, a gloomy “Mental Hospital,” and a “Military Camp” at the very entrance to Ground Zero with elite loot and tough bots.
The game design itself will also be rebuilt:
-
Multi-characters: you will be able to have one operator for each faction, allowing you to play with friends.
-
Progress Separation: Inventory and reputation in PvE and PvEvP are now separated from each other—transferring evacuated gear from safe solo mode to hardcore combat will no longer be possible.
MADFINGER Games hints that this is only the first layer of planned changes, and the illegal smuggling economy will force players to stumble more often into enemy ambushes along their routes.
