Apparently, Blizzard is truly preparing something big. As early as the end of this month, a new wave of darkness will descend upon Sanctuary—and Mephisto himself will be at the center of it all. Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred isn’t just another expansion, but a full-fledged chapter, throwing players once again into the thick of the conflict. The threat: stopping the Lord of Hatred before he delivers the final blow.
What do we have right now? Almost 12 minutes of pure gameplay. IGN continues to whet the appetite, and this time without any generalizations—the very beginning of the walkthrough has leaked online. They showed off the first locations, the atmosphere, and the plot’s direction. And you know what? The tension is expertly built.
The trailer, by the way, showcases the Paladin—the very class previously added as part of pre-orders. A small detail, but a nice touch. But that’s not the main point. The introduction was truly atmospheric: gloomy halls, a slow buildup of threat, the first hints that Mephisto has returned for a reason.
Let’s talk about classes. Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred will also introduce us to the Warlock—a fresh archetype that looks set to seriously shake up the meta. It’s worth recalling Blizzard’s experiments with similar classes in Diablo II: Resurrected Reign of the Warlock. They succeeded then, and now they have every chance of repeating their success.
But the juiciest part comes at the end of the article: the first boss fight. Blizzard once again delivered: the arena is fully utilized, the mechanics demand attention, and the spectacle is beyond praise. If this is just the beginning of the expansion, what’s next? I really hope we’re in for one of the most powerful expansions in the series’ history.
