The Minesweeper insider has thrown up interesting things again — this time it’s about a whole set of summer skins for Deadlock and the possible launch of open beta testing in the summer. According to him, Valve is already actively chasing this wave in order to combine the release of new content with maximum audience coverage.

Who Gets the Beach Bow in Deadlock
Images are ready for 10 characters at once: Wraith, Dynamo, Gray Talon, Holliday, Vindicta, Kelvin, Ivy, Apollo, Graves and Victor. Judging by the description, the Vindicta skin is something light, summery, with a straw hat. Minesweeper clarified that the comparison is approximate, but the general vibe conveys accurately.

Customization, by the way, promises to be deeper than cosmetics: elements and effects can be combined, just like in Dota 2. Not just “put on the skin and went,” but a full-fledged image build.
What Valve is planning before the summer
Beach content is only part of the picture. According to insider reports, Deadlock will be covered by a major patch back in May: remodeling old characters, redesigning T1/T2 towers, forest creeps, midboss, and, apparently, map changes. The game is still in a closed test with invitations through friends, but Valve is clearly preparing a serious release to a wide audience.
MBT in the summer is a logical move. Launching open access at the same time as the beach skins means giving new players something visually appealing at once. Marketing through content, not through advertising.
The community reacted predictably: there were already jokes about “Bikinidicta” and comparisons with the summer Widowmaker skins from Overwatch. But there is interest behind the irony — the audience has been waiting for such content. Deadlock promises to have a busy summer in 2026.
An interesting event that took place earlier was the Deadlock Night Shift tournament.
