Ubisoft is officially releasing the major patch 1.0.6 for the action game Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced — the update will be released on August 4 at 4:00 PM Moscow time. The remake has had a strong start, but the developers haven’t rested on their laurels and are quickly addressing the community’s biggest concerns.

A fan’s dream has come true: blowpipe deactivation, a new sprint, and 10 autosaves

The most notable gameplay innovation, which players have been asking for since the original’s release, concerns Edward Kenway’s appearance. The game finally features a toggle for the blowpipe’s visibility: this piece of equipment can now be hidden at any time through the equipment menu, allowing you to customize your character’s appearance.

Along with customization, the developers have implemented important adjustments to the control ergonomics:

  • The number of autosave slots will double, from 5 to 10.
  • Sprint can now be assigned to the right trigger of the gamepad (RT/R2), significantly simplifying parkour.
  • Overall character responsiveness during complex acrobatic maneuvers has been improved.

Extensive Overhaul: From 30 FPS on PC to “Pumpkin” physics and enemy AI

Patch 1.0.6 does not bring new story content, but offers an extensive list of technical fixes for all platforms. On PC, the developers completely fixed a bug that caused cutscenes to lock at 30 FPS with non-standard graphics settings, and also streamlined mouse and keyboard mappings.

Significant improvements have been made to the AI and combat system. The developers have reworked guard reactions, elite enemy behavior, and fixed bugs with trips and stealth kills. Naval battles weren’t overlooked either: collisions during ramming on the flagship “Kachka” were corrected, and bugs that occurred during boarding of enemy vessels were fixed.

Patch Size on PC and Consoles and New Game+ Announcement

The update size varies significantly depending on the target platform. Ubisoft has revealed the exact download size for all stores and consoles.

Platform Patch 1.0.6 Size
Xbox Series X/S 15.2 GB
PlayStation 5 5.03 GB
Ubisoft Connect / EGS 3.7 GB
Steam 1.8 GB

Ubisoft representatives emphasized that patch 1.0.6 is only the first stage of long-term support for the game. The team is already mastering the production of the next layer of content and is actively developing the New Game+ mode, details of which they promise to share soon.
