Whisper of the House is now available on PlayStation 5. Players organize homes and shops while learning about residents through the objects they leave behind.

Rooms reveal details about their owners

Residents ask the player to prepare a move, clear clutter or arrange a shop. Personal objects add context to each task and sometimes reveal a hidden part of the owner’s story. The game allows several useful layouts. A room does not always have one correct answer, but important objects still need accessible places. Each commission begins with a practical request. One resident may need boxes unpacked, while another wants a shop arranged or a crowded room cleared. The player decides where objects belong within the available layout. Important items still need sensible placement, but the game allows more than one attractive solution.

Small interactions make the rooms feel occupied. The gramophone plays music, the bath toy responds with sound and tissues can be pulled from a box. None of these actions creates a combat challenge. They encourage the player to touch objects and notice details that might otherwise look like static background decoration. A calm pace does not mean that every decision is automatic. Large furniture needs enough room, frequently used objects should remain reachable and a shop must still function after decoration. The freedom lies in how the player solves those needs. Different arrangements can satisfy the same request and produce distinct-looking rooms.

More than 1,800 objects support decoration

The game includes more than 1,800 pieces of furniture and over ten home layouts. Players can also change wallpaper, flooring and selected decorations. Many objects respond to small actions. A gramophone can play music, a bath toy can make a sound and a tissue can be pulled from its box. These details reward careful exploration. The objects carry information as well as decoration. A letter can reveal a relationship, and an unusual item may suggest why a room was left in its current state. Players who finish only the visible checklist can complete a job. Players who inspect the surroundings learn more about the resident and the larger town mystery.

Whisper Town’s mystery develops through the same jobs. Cracks, letters and local rumours appear around ordinary domestic spaces. The game does not move the player into a separate battle mode when a clue is found. Instead, observation changes the meaning of a room that initially seemed to contain only clutter. The game’s audience can therefore approach it from several directions. Some players may concentrate on tidy layouts and colour choices. Others may search every drawer for story information. The shared structure lets both styles progress through Whisper Town, because decoration opens new spaces and those spaces contain the clues.

The mystery grows through observation

Letters, cracks and local rumours suggest that Whisper Town is not as calm as it first appears. The clues are connected to everyday jobs instead of a separate combat system. Furniture earned during commissions can be used in the player’s own home. The PS5 release includes the complete organizing systems and town story described by the developer. More than 1,800 furniture pieces give the organizing system a wide vocabulary. Tables, shelves and small decorations can be combined across more than ten home layouts.

Furniture and personal objects help each room tell a small part of its owner’s story.

Wallpaper and flooring change the surrounding tone without forcing the player to rebuild every arrangement. Earned furniture can later appear in the player’s own home.

The PlayStation 5 release includes both the organizing work and the connected town story. It is not a reduced decoration tool built only around furniture placement. Players can follow commissions, learn about residents and return home with rewards. These systems operate together throughout the available campaign. Because commissions reward furniture, progress also feeds back into personal decoration. A completed job can provide an object that changes the player’s own space. The reward is visible and usable instead of existing only as a number. This loop connects helping residents with building a home that records the player’s route through town.
