HistoryAccurateDevelopers, a studio known for its penchant for satirical reworkings of history, unexpectedly announced The Odyssey Simulator—a game where Achilles slashes through Troy in a bikini and wielding a Benelli M4 shotgun. The Steam release is scheduled for August 24, 2026, but things aren’t so clear-cut: one source claims there’s no exact date yet, even though the store page already displays that date. Most likely, the date was added later—and this new addition is completely confusing.
Why is such a game even appearing now? It’s simple: the creators are taking aim at two big names at once: Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed Odyssey and the controversy surrounding Assassin’s Creed Shadows, where historical accuracy wasn’t exactly a strong point. Yasuke Simulator was already a jab in the same direction, and now the studio is confidently building on its success. The game features not only swords and shields, but also a UMP assault rifle, an off-road vehicle for crushing infantry, and other anachronisms. AI assets are rumored to be used, presumably to save money on historical consultants.
The plot revolves around the Trojan War, but the main character is an elven maiden in golden bikini armor, accompanied by Menelaus, Agamemnon, Odysseus, and Patroclus. The gameplay, judging by the trailer, is a wild mix of hack-and-slash combat, and it looks like a rather lackluster homage to ancient Greek epics. The system requirements are reasonable: a Core i7-4770, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 1060 are a minimum; 16 GB and a GTX 1070 are recommended for a comfortable experience. Russian will not be available—English only.
If you want to support this absurdity, add the game to your Steam wishlist—and be prepared for it to be viewed with dislike. But this is probably the main feature of The Odyssey Simulator.
