The developers of Roblox Grow a Garden 2 have rolled out a major update, adding a new NPC named the Auctioneer to the very center of the map. This guy completely disrupts the traditional gardening simulator economy. From him, you can snatch up standard bamboo, as well as scarce Dragon’s Breath seeds or regular eggs, which were previously unsold for in-game currency. This new mechanic attracts crowds of gamers eager to boost their gardens, but it’s definitely not worth spending resources mindlessly.

The Auctioneer’s Price Reduction Mechanic in Grow a Garden 2

Auction in Grow a Garden 2

The auction here is designed to the contrary—it’s a so-called Dutch auction. Every 30 minutes, the stall’s inventory is completely refreshed, displaying six random lots: from pets and mechanisms to rare boxes and seeds. Buyers must remember three key rules:

  • Price Countdown: The starting price of items doesn’t increase, but steadily decreases every second.
  • Scarcity factor: the total quantity of goods in stock is strictly limited.
  • Refresh timer: if an item isn’t purchased by the end of the half-hour cycle, it simply disappears.

Waiting for the maximum discount is risky. While you’re waiting for the perfect moment, other players can buy up the entire stock on the server, leaving you empty-handed.

Is it worth spending shekels on the Roblox auction house?

Not all items at the Auctioneer are created equal. The same set of 20 mushroom seeds in the standard seed store will cost you a fixed 300,000 shekels. However, even at the very end of the timer, they can fetch a whopping 1,500,000 shekels at auction. Paying five times the price for dubious convenience only makes sense if you have millions of extra shekels sitting on your account that you simply can’t use.

The situation is different with scarce content. Dragon’s Breath Seeds are extremely rare on regular shelves. If you don’t have any spare Robux for an instant donation, the local market is the best legal alternative for upgrading your garden.

A special treat for Grow a Garden 2 veterans: regular eggs. Previously, this valuable reward was awarded exclusively for completing guild quests. Now, if you time it right and hold out until the final seconds of the round, you can snag one for just 400,000–700,000 shekels. This investment is definitely worth considering.
