Marathon — Zero Tolerance for Cheaters & Stream Snipers: Complete Bungie Report - Image 1
2 months ago vpesports

Bungie has reported on its anti-cheat efforts in Marathon. The extraction shooter was released a month ago, and the developers are already taking violators seriously. A zero-tolerance policy: a ban wave, advanced telemetry for quickly identifying prohibited software, plus three key improvements. First, the system for reporting suspicious players will be simplified. Second, moderation of voice and text chats will be strengthened—toxicity is also on the list of targets. Third, feedback on reports will be introduced (so that players can see the results instead of sending reports into the void).

Stream sniping is a particular headache. In ranked mode, this problem has become critical, Bungie admits. When someone deliberately connects to a content creator’s stream to ruin the game, it impacts the entire experience. They promise tools to protect the integrity of matches “in the coming weeks.” Anti-cheat improvements will be a continuous cycle: monitoring → updates → more monitoring. In the dangerous world of Marathon, honest players are promised progress protection—we’ll see how quickly it works.
