The players found a new bug in 2026. Dota 2 suddenly found a critical bug that turned Anti-Mage with the active aspect of Magebane’s Mirror into an absolute weapon against Spectre – the poor guy just disappears from the map after pressing a single Counterspell button. The players, by the way, noticed this horror in the usual public. It’s tough, honestly. After that, enthusiasts from Reddit went to check the mechanics in the training lobby and quickly confirmed the presence of a serious glitch in Valve’s code.

The point here is the broken reinforcement. As conceived by the developers, Magebane’s Mirror gives Counterspell the ability to return an additional portion of pain to enemies when reflecting their own spells. In official figures, in fact, there is a hard limit — no more than 400 units of bonus damage. However, in conjunction with Anti-Mage, this rule seems to be going wild.

It’s all due to an ancient crutch in the mechanics of Spectral Dagger. Usually, the target can’t just deflect this knife, and if Spectre throws it into the ground, the mirror shields don’t work at all. But then, apparently, the logic breaks down.

If the blade flies into an ally, and our Anti-Mage just gets in the way and burns through the shield, a collapse occurs. The negative effect of Spectral Dagger is applied to Spectre itself 10-11 times in a row, can you imagine? For ordinary heroes, this is a small thing, but Anti-Mage with the first aspect selected in such a situation produces several thousand damage — it literally annihilates the opponent in one move. It seems that Valve will have to patch up these holes urgently, because the balance has finally left the chat.

Cool, right?
