The King of the Jungle is not going anywhere — the T1 organization has officially confirmed that Mun ‘Oner’ Hyeon-jun has re-signed the contract until 2028 inclusive.

The announcement was rolled out on social media, by the way, very timely. This is, in fact, the best gift for a League of Legends player’s 23rd birthday, which he celebrates literally tomorrow. The club’s bosses say bluntly that He is not just a jungler, but a man who literally writes the history of the tag, helping to forge the T1 esports dynasty retention that everyone in esports dreams of. It seems that management has decided not to risk assets after all the recent turmoil.

Since 2020, Mun, let’s put it this way, has managed to make a mess of things — in a good way. The three world champion titles in T1‘s piggy bank were largely due to his aggressive moves in the woods and strategic thinking, which, frankly, makes any opponent nervous on The Rift. The fans seem to be absolutely thrilled, because roster stability is a critically important thing for a top team, especially now.

Synergy of Oner and Faker at Worlds 2025

Forget about the standard routes of the junglers. What Mun ‘Oner’ Hyeon-jun does in League of Legends is not just “clearing camps”, it’s mental suppression. In 2025, he finally turned the card into a chessboard, where the opponent loses even before the first encounter on the river.

Synergy of Oner and Faker

Jungle Control and Macro Oner games

Oner rarely follows a pattern. His pathing is pure initiative engineering. If an ordinary forester follows the “profit-gank” vector, then Oner builds a route through “negation”.

Early Game: Starting from the opposite side of a strong line is not an accident. This is a tactical feint that deprives the opponent of control over key spots (Red/Blue buff). While the enemy is waiting for him on one flank, Oner is already cementing control over the river.

Mid-game timings: His positioning around the Baron and the Dragons is a trap. He does not go “to the object”, he occupies blind spots in advance, turning the enemy’s exit to the river into a suicide mission.

Leitgame pressure: 100% knowledge of the enemy’s location. The trainer does not expect mistakes — he creates conditions where any action of the opponent leads to a loss of pace.

T1 vs KT Rolster Match Analysis

In the decisive series against KT Rolster, especially in the 4th and 5th maps, Oner literally turned off a bunch of BDD and Cuzz from the game. While Cuzz was trying to find the rhythm, Oner had already seized control of River 8 times in 15 minutes. It’s not just micro-control, it’s objective control.

Game Stage Owner’s Priority Outcome for the Opponent
0–10 min Counter-push dominance Loss of 1–2 key buffs
10–25 min Control of neutral zones No safe map vision options
25+ min Initiation via “blind spots” Unfavorable teamfight and Baron loss

Interaction of midlainer and forester T1

The synergy of this pair is the highest form of esports evolution. This is not a “mussel in the forest”, it is a single organism. Faker predicts — Oner executes.

To be honest, their interaction in the mid-game is a verdict for the opponent. When Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok takes on the role of facilitator (Galio, Taliyah or Sylas), Oner turns into an unstoppable engine of aggression. Catch the inside: Their gank coordination is based on enemy movement patterns 10-15 seconds before the event itself.

How it works in practice:

  • Synchronous pressure: While Faker is pressing the mid-liner into the tower, Oner is already taking resources behind the enemy’s back.
  • Objects under lock and key: The Baron’s coordination reaches 99.9%. One move of the mid-liner and the jangler is already initiating a fight that cannot be lost.

In the Worlds 2025 finals against the same KT Rolster, a bunch of Faker-Oner caught BDD three times in the MFA, depriving it of the ability to scale. In fact, they simply removed the leader of the enemy team from the game before the decisive fights began. Think ten times before you enter their zone of influence.

The value of Oner from 2026 to 2028 for the stability of T1 composition

One point should be taken into account — the extension of the contract (contract extension 2028) with Oner happened during the most turbulent period. More recently, by the way, the legendary Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyeong left the roster — he joined Hanwha Life Esports. Oner is now the second oldest in the team after the great Faker. This, in principle, makes him the foundation on which the renewed team will be built in the coming seasons.

If you remember, Oner came back in the era of the very composition of ZOFGK — Choi ‘Zeus’ Woo-je, Oner, Faker, Gumayusi and Keriya. That roster, in fact, brought T1 back to the top of the world, taking two trophies in a row. But time is running out — Zeus escaped to Hanwha Life Esports back in 2024, and Gumayushi followed him later. At the beginning of 2025, top-liner Choi ‘Doran’ Hyeon-joon joined the team, and Kim ‘Peyz’ Su-hwan took the place of adk.

Faker, of course, remains the heart of the organization, but Oner is its backbone. His ability to adapt to new teammates, while maintaining frenzied efficiency in the jungle, gives T1 a chance to dominate in 2026. Mun  Hyeon-jun stay’s experience and reliability are exactly what will allow the brand to compete for cups, not just participate in tournaments. It’s true that such players have been loyal to one club for so long.
