The Vietnamese star of League of Legends, Do Dui Khan, aka Levi, has completed his esports career. On his birthday, he posted a video explaining why he would no longer play professionally. In ten years, he has become very popular in his region, and he enjoys fame and respect from fans everywhere.

Unfinished mission and health problems

In an emotional address, the cybersportsman admitted that thoughts of retiring from his career had been haunting him for a long time. Lesnik has ten VCS championship titles, 31 SEA Games gold, and appearances at MSI international tournaments and world championships. But one goal remained unattainable.

“One thing I wanted to do was help the Vietnamese scene break through on a global level,” the player shared. “For example, to lead a VCS team at least into the top eight at Worlds. But now I’m leaving without realizing this dream.”

The state of health has become a crucial factor. The forester suffers from stomach pains, and this year he has added problems with his right arm. Doctors strongly recommended to reduce the load. Plus, the esports player wants to pay more attention to his parents and create his own family, something that he simply didn’t have enough time for before.

The path from beginner to icon of the region

Levy started his professional career in 2015. Widespread recognition came to him in 2017, when he joined Gigabyte Marines. Immediately in the first season, this Vietnamese simply amazed everyone with his well-known game on all news feeds at All-Star 2016, and then also at MSI and Worlds in 2017. After this, Riot Games decided that it was time for Vietnam to allocate its own region and give direct tickets to the world championships.

2016 All-Star Levy and team

In 2018, this capable guy went to play abroad. He first played for 100 Thieves in North America, and then moved to China, to join the JDG team. But things didn’t work out for him abroad – he couldn’t show his best game. In 2019, he returned home, and began his career as the captain of GAM Esports and remained so until the end. Sadness came to his door because of the last season

The final year of his career turned out to be bitter. GAM Esports experienced difficulties after being forced to move abroad to participate in the Asia-Pacific competitions. The team failed in the early stages of qualifying, barely scratched a ticket to MSI, but lost to PSG Talon in the decisive match. The Vietnamese never got a ticket to the World Cup.

Levy and his comrades regularly represented Vietnam on the international stage. But it was not possible to repeat the breakthrough of 2017 — GAM never made it into the top 8 Worlds, being stuck at the qualification stage. The SEA Games 31 gold medal remained one of the brightest awards in the track record before Dui Khan. This achievement earned him the title of national Master of esports.

The mentioned player has raised more than 150,000 bucks during his performances at tournaments, if you trust eSports Earnings. The amount is steep for our region, but it is still far from world records.

A new chapter: streaming and commenting

Levi’s departure is not the end of his association with esports. At the end of the video message, Lesnik spoke about his plans to switch to streaming and blogging, and become a permanent content creator. The possibility of commenting on official match broadcasts is not excluded. His experience, charisma and knowledge of the game make him an ideal candidate for a media career.

The Replacement Crisis at GAM Esports

The captain’s departure puts GAM Esports in a difficult position ahead of the new season. The club has already said goodbye to mider, strelka and support. There is a shortage of promising foresters in the transfer market who can lead a team with ten VCS championship titles. The management will have to carry out a large-scale restructuring of the staff.

GAM Esports Levy

The situation resembles the story of another Vietnamese star, SofM (Le Quang Zui). The only player from Vietnam to reach the World Cup finals ended his playing career in China. In 2024, he returned home and took over as head coach of Vikings MGN Esports. Although there has been no official statement, SofM’s professional career is effectively over.

Aggressive style and international recognition

Levy is remembered as one of the greatest Vietnamese players in the history of LoL. His aggressive manner of playing in the forest, based on constant skirmishes and map control, attracted the attention of top organizations. 100 Thieves chose him to enhance the line-up in 2018, but the chemistry didn’t work out. The transition to JDG for the spring split of 2019 also did not bring the desired results.

After returning to GAM, the player spent six years in a Vietnamese organization. For all the progress of becoming a personality and being a leader on the pro scene is ingrained in the blood, international successes have remained sporadic. The team failed to gain a foothold among the world’s strongest teams.

This year, GAM did not qualify for the Worlds, losing the final of the Asia-Pacific LCP season to the same PSG Talon. This defeat put an end to the 2025 campaign and became the last chord in the legend’s career.

Contracts: At the moment, GAM has signed agreements with only three players for the upcoming season. The club needs to find not only a forester, but also a support team for 2026. The management is preparing for one of the largest off-seasons in the history of the organization.
