The first semifinal could have gone very differently. Legacy arrived as one of the biggest stories of IEM Atlanta 2026: the Brazilian squad had already knocked out M80, Astralis, and NAVI itself, reaching the top four without a single playoff loss. GamerLegion, on the other hand, came through the other side — past paiN Gaming and through a tough quarterfinal run.
Ancient, GamerLegion’s map pick, went exactly to their script. Snax set the tone on the T side (8:4 after the first half), and after the switch, the European squad didn’t give Legacy a foothold — closing 13:9. Legacy fired back on Mirage in a way that looked like a completely different match: 10 T-side rounds in the first half and a commanding 13:3. GamerLegion managed three times fewer rounds than their opponents on that map.
Everything came down to Inferno. After a balanced first half (6:6), GamerLegion shifted into another gear entirely. REZ delivered a 3.49 rating and 165.9 ADR on the T side of the second half — one of the most dominant individual halves of the entire tournament. Legacy had no answers, and a 13:6 scoreline sent GamerLegion into the grand final.
Tauson was named MVP of the series with a 1.27 rating. REZ spoke post-match about the growth of the team’s younger core — PR and hypex gaining experience on the big stage was, in his words, critical for the squad’s development. For Snax, this moment carries extra weight: the Polish legend was in an Atlanta final back in 2017 with Virtus.pro, where they lost to Astralis. He now has a chance to rewrite that story.

NAVI vs BetBoom 2:0 — makazze and a Team That Never Looked Threatened
The second semifinal was less one-sided than the scoreline suggests going in. BetBoom earned genuine respect across this tournament: they beat Vitality in the group stage, handled paiN Gaming, and made the top four on merit. Zorte and the squad were ready to fight — and actually opened Ancient with an early T-side advantage on NAVI’s own map pick.
But NAVI held their CT side and flipped the script after the switch. makazze controlled the entry pace, b1t and w0nderful dictated tempo throughout — final score 13:8. Nuke was even less competitive for BetBoom: 13:6, and the series was done in two maps.
There was a storyline running underneath this one: NAVI faced their former IGL Boombl4, now captaining BetBoom. There were no sentimental moments on the server. NAVI are in form right now — they had just knocked out Vitality in the quarterfinals, ending a 21-match winning streak in knockout stages. That was one of the biggest results of the entire CS2 season.
