The Story of Rumble

A pile of scrap metal does not usually strike fear into anyone, but Rumble has never let that stop him. Small even by yordle standards and quick to anger, he took what little he had — his own hands and whatever junk he could scavenge — and built a mech suit stacked with electrified harpoons and incendiary rockets. Other yordles might laugh at his workshop full of spare parts. Rumble tends to let the flamespitter answer for him.

Heat Is the Whole Game

That contraption runs hot, literally. Junkyard Titan, his passive, builds Heat with every spell cast; cross fifty percent and he enters the Danger Zone, where all his basic abilities gain bonus effects, but push past one hundred and the same machine starts to overheat and lock him out of his own kit. Managing that line is the whole game for him — pace the casts too slowly and the bonus effects go to waste, push too hard and the mech shuts down at the worst possible moment.

Inside the safe range, his tools do real work. Flamespitter cones fire in front of him for continuous magic damage over three seconds, best used by keeping a target inside its range rather than tapping it once. Scrap Shield throws up a barrier that blocks damage and grants a burst of speed, both stronger while in the Danger Zone. Electro Harpoon lets him carry two projectiles at once, each slowing a target’s Move Speed and stripping Magic Resist, which is exactly why enemies are advised to stack that same resistance against him, since his damage runs almost entirely magic. The Equalizer, his ultimate, rains down a volley of rockets that leaves behind a wall of flame; used well it can seal off an escape route for a losing opponent, and used against him it punishes anyone slow to clear the blast zone once the missiles start falling.

He calls Bandle City home, the elusive yordle nation that slips out of the mortal world as easily as it slips back in, though Rumble’s mech suit feels more like it belongs in a scrapyard than anywhere magical. Fellow yordles Teemo and Tristana share that same homeland, though neither of them builds quite like he does.
