The Story of Renata Glasc
Zaun’s undercity does not run on currency alone; it runs on debt, favor, and fear, and Renata Glasc long ago positioned herself at the center of all three. She began with almost nothing after her childhood home burned down, left only with her family name and her parents’ alchemical notes. From that wreckage she built the wealthiest chem-baron operation in Zaun.
Her rise was not built on force in the way a Noxian general might understand it. Instead she wired everyone’s fortunes to her own, so that helping her became simply the profitable choice. Cooperate, and the rewards are substantial. Resist, and the consequences follow soon after. Over time, even her rivals tend to end up working for her, one way or another.
That logic carries straight into how she fights. Her passive, Leverage, lets her mark enemies with bonus damage so that any ally who follows up profits from the opening she created — cooperation pays, literally. Handshake roots the first target her missile catches, and can be recast to fling that same target wherever she wants, a deal made on her terms. Bailout keeps a struggling ally alive long enough to close out a kill, turning a losing position into a return on investment. Loyalty Program showers her side with shields while poisoning enemies with slowing chemtech, and Hostile Takeover, her ultimate, is the bluntest expression of her whole philosophy: a wave of chemicals that turns hostile targets berserk, forcing them to fight on terms she set.
Played as a Support who can also hold the mid lane, drawing on Mana like most of Zaun’s chemically inclined casters, Renata’s world overlaps with other Zaun-born and Zaun-adjacent figures. Dr. Mundo and Ekko both call the same undercity home, though neither answers to her the way most of Zaun eventually does. Whether that makes them exceptions or simply targets she hasn’t gotten around to yet is left open.
