The Story of Pyke
Pyke was supposed to drown inside the jaull-fish that swallowed him, one more harpooner lost to the trade that built Bilgewater‘s slaughter docks. Instead, he came back.
What Came Back
Whatever returned from that jaull-fish wasn’t quite the man who went in. Pyke now moves through the alleys and backways of Bilgewater — a lawless harbor of pirates, monster hunters, and smugglers, where a fortune can turn with the tide — with abilities no ordinary harpooner ever had, hunting down the profiteers and exploiters who built their fortunes on the backs of people like him. A city famous for hunting monsters has, without quite realizing it, produced one of its own — and turned it loose on the wrong targets.
Hunting the Hunters
Pyke fills an unusual niche as a support who fights like an assassin, played in that role or occasionally mid, spending mana to stay one step ahead of anyone who might expect him. His kit reflects a killer who thrives unseen: Gift of the Drowned Ones lets him regenerate damage he has recently taken from champions, but only while hidden from them, which explains why he vanishes with Ghostwater Dive — a burst of camouflage and Move Speed that decays over time — the instant a fight turns risky. Bone Skewer either stabs an enemy in front of him or hooks one toward him, and Phantom Undertow dashes him forward while a phantom trails behind, returning to stun any enemy champion it crosses. Death From Below, his ultimate, blinks him onto a low-health enemy for an execution, allows a second cast if it kills, and grants bonus gold to whichever ally assisted. Every tool serves the same purpose: strike from the dark, vanish before retaliation lands, and let Bilgewater’s exploiters learn what it feels like to be hunted. Fellow denizens of the port, from Gangplank to Graves, know the docks well enough to recognize when Pyke is the one doing the stalking.
