The Story of Kai'Sa
Survival is the whole story with Kai’Sa. Taken by the Void while still a child, she should not, by any reasonable measure, have made it out the other side.
Claimed as a Child
She did anyway, through sheer refusal to give up, and the experience reshaped her into something both hunter and hunted view warily. To some, she now looks less like a survivor and more like a warning of a future they’d rather avoid. Other Void-touched figures, among them Kha’Zix, share her origin without sharing her outcome — she came back changed, not consumed.
A Weapon That Grows With Her
That change lives on her, literally: a living Void carapace bonded to her body, uneasy but functional. It leaves her with an unresolved choice still ahead — whether to fight alongside the mortals who sometimes call her a monster, or eventually let go and let the Void take the world that left her stranded in the first place.
Her kit reflects that dual identity directly. Second Skin, her passive, stacks Plasma with every hit and upgrades her basic abilities as she buys certain items, letting her fighting style shift as her carapace does. Icathian Rain scatters seeking missiles at nearby targets, Void Seeker fires a long-range shot that marks enemies for extra Plasma, and Supercharge grants a burst of speed followed by Attack Speed — or invisibility, once upgraded. Killer Instinct, her ultimate, lets her dash straight at an enemy champion regardless of what stands between them. Every piece of it upgrades the same way she has: shaped by the Void, but never fully surrendered to it.
Kai’Sa fights as a marksman with a mage’s edge, spending mana to keep her Plasma stacks building and her carapace evolving through a fight. Nothing about her kit locks her into a single form for long, which mirrors the larger question hanging over her: whether the shape the Void gave her is a burden to carry or simply who she has become.
