The Story of Fizz
Fizz lives among the reefs surrounding Bilgewater, a port with no shortage of pirates, monster hunters, and smugglers passing through its waters. He is an amphibious yordle, at home equally on land and beneath the waves, and he has made something of a side occupation out of the sea itself.
Superstitious captains have long thrown tithes into the water to appease whatever waits below, and Fizz is often the one who retrieves them, and, depending on his mood, returns them. Even Bilgewater’s most hardened sailors know better than to provoke him, since plenty of cautionary tales exist about those who underestimated him and paid for it. Many mistake him for some kind of capricious ocean spirit rather than a yordle at all, and he does nothing to correct that impression, since commanding the creatures of the deep and confounding everyone around him, friend or foe, seems to amuse him more than any explanation would.
That slipperiness carries directly into how he fights. Nimble Fighter, his passive, lets him move straight through units while reducing the flat damage he takes from any source. Urchin Strike dashes him through a target with on-hit effects attached, Seastone Trident causes his attacks to bleed enemies over time and can be empowered for a burst of bonus damage, and Playful/Trickster sends him leaping onto his spear, untargetable, with the option to jump again before slamming back down. His ultimate, Chum the Waters, tosses a fish that slows whichever champion it sticks to before a shark erupts from below, knocking them up and punishing them further. Nothing about Fizz stays where you expect it, in the water or out of it. Because he can walk straight through minions, he weaves in and out of a wave to land his empowered trident hit before anyone quite notices he has committed to the trade, and once that hit lands, his damage briefly spikes — a window opponents are better off waiting out than testing.
