Yorick

Yorick occupies a niche almost no other top laner touches: he is a summoner-fighter whose real power lies not in his own spear but in the army walking beside him. His Shepherd of Souls passive raises Mist Walkers that swarm nearby enemies, and the rest of his kit feeds, directs, or amplifies that horde.

The loop begins with Last Rites, which empowers his next attack, heals him, and digs a grave whenever it kills a target or strikes a champion or large monster — graves fuel new Mist Walkers. Mourning Mist hurls Black Mist that damages, slows, shreds armor, and marks enemies, sending his summons sprinting toward the marked target with bonus move speed. Dark Procession then drops a destructible wall around the victim, trapping them inside a cage with Yorick and his ghouls. The resulting cage is one of the top lane’s most suffocating trade patterns.

The Maiden changes the map

Eulogy of the Isles summons the Maiden of the Mist, who amplifies Yorick’s attacks against her target and automatically raises Walkers from dead enemies. Crucially, the Maiden can be sent to push a lane on her own, letting Yorick pressure two parts of the map simultaneously — the core of his identity as one of the game’s premier split-pushers.

At difficulty 6, Yorick asks for macro judgment more than mechanics: knowing when to shove, when to send the Maiden away, and when to cage a duelist. He punishes immobile opponents brutally, but area damage can strip his army and leave him underwhelming in open teamfights. Players who enjoy pressure chess over flashy outplays find a lot to love here.
