The Zone doesn’t forgive mistakes. But those who know where the legendary artifacts are in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 gain a significant advantage—a boost to defense, endurance, or stealth that regular “gems” can’t provide. The problem is that most of them are either extremely rare or tied to specific anomalies and even story missions. Some are completely undetectable by detectors.

Below is a complete list of all the legendary artifacts in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 as of August 2026, including four new ones from the “The Price of Hope” expansion. It includes effects, locations, prices, and radiation levels.

Artifacts and Their Properties

Artifact Location Effect Radiation Price (buy/sell)
Compass Gravity anomalies (Volchok, Whirlwind) Maximum physical protection Maximum 70,000 / 24,000 coupons
Heart Tied to the story Required for a specific ending
Chernobyl Thermal anomalies (Burner, Comet, Nutcracker) Max heat protection + max bleeding resistance Maximum 70,000 / 24,000 coupons
Hypercube Chemical anomalies (Gas Cloud, Bubbles, Fruit Punch) Max radio adaptation + max chemical protection None 70,000 / 24,000 coupons
Liquid Stone Electrical anomalies (Tesla, Electro) Maximum stamina Maximum 60,000 / 24,000 coupons
Thunderberry “Bulba” anomaly — Zalesye Reduces bullet damage while standing still None 14,000 coupons
Strange Ball “Tornado” anomaly — Yanov Reduces anomaly damage while charging 27,604 coupons
Strange Flower Poppy Field — Zalesye Stealth +300 seconds 4,140 coupons
Strange Nut Fire Whirl — Cooling Towers Quickly stops bleeding, but slows healing 80,000 coupons
Strange Pot Fog — Burnt Forest Reduces hunger, but causes psi-hallucinations 27,604 coupons
Strange Water Will-o’-the-wisps — Zaton Reduces radiation effects, sometimes causes intoxication 27,604 coupons

New Legendary Artifacts in the Price of Hope DLC

Legendary Artifacts The Price of Hope

With the release of the “Price of Hope” story DLC, four new legendary artifacts have been added to the game. Two of them—Beacon Light and Flickering Beacon—are currently the only artifacts that provide psionic protection. This is extremely useful, considering the number of mutants with psionic attacks in the Zone.

Artifacts and Their Properties

Artifact Location Effect Radiation
Beacon Light Mission “Forgotten” Psi-protection, removes faces from phantoms
Flickering Beacon Bridge to the Chernobyl NPP Increases psi-protection
Shadow Chimera Heart Mission “Shadows of the Past” Increases all resistances except psi 4/5
Water Drop DPP-2 — Chernobyl NPP Increases carry weight and stamina 3/5

The Heart of the Shadow Chimera is the best all-around defensive artifact in the game. It provides a moderate boost to all resistances except psi damage. However, its radiation (4/5) is a significant drawback. It’s unlikely to work with other “radiating” artifacts. The solution is either upgrading your suit with lead containers or using artifacts with radiation dissipation.

Top 5 Legendary S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Artifacts for Beginners

A newcomer to the Zone shouldn’t immediately go after the Compass or the Hypercube—they still need to be found, and there’s nothing to block the radiation. It’s much wiser to start with the “strange” series of artifacts, which don’t emit radiation and are found in strictly defined locations—they don’t require a detector.

Strange Sphere — Bulba location in Zalesye, near the ambulance. The anomaly constantly contracts and expands, pulling everything around it. You need to maneuver behind cover and grab the artifact. Effect: Reduces bullet damage while standing still. Taking damage increases the artifact’s weight. Invaluable for your first firefights.

Strange Flower — Poppy Field, southwest of the base in Zalesye. Can be collected even without completing the side quest. Makes you harder to detect for 300 seconds.

Strange Bolt — the Smerch anomaly on Yanov. Reduces damage from anomalies while charging. Excellent insurance if you’re just starting to explore dangerous zones. Only works while charged; reloading is required in an anomaly.

Liquid Stone — unlike the “strange” ones, this one is considered “serious.” Provides maximum radiation and chemical protection without emitting radiation. Easiest to find in the Garbage. Price: 70,000 coupons, sells for 24,000.

Thunder Berry — maximum endurance, but also maximum radiation. Take it only if you have something to mitigate the radiation. Find it in the Cement Factory.

Best Artifact Builds and Combinations in Stalker 2

The best artifact builds for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

The Zone is a place where there’s no such thing as a universal soldier. Some run around with a machine gun at the ready, some prefer sniping, and some haul tons of loot. Each style has its own combination of artifacts.

The “Tank” build is for those who like to enter a firefight with their face turned on. Take the Compass (max physical defense) + Strange Orb (reduces damage from bullets while static) + Liquid Stone (radio/chemical protection without radiation). With this combination, you’re a moving armored vehicle. Cons: The Compass emits a lot of radiation, requiring lead containers in your suit.

The “Scout” build is for those who like to run, search, and avoid fights. Thunder Berry (max stamina) + Water Drop (weight + stamina) + Strange Flower (stealth). Stamina is off the charts—you can run half the map without stopping. The Thunder Berry emits radiation, so you need compensation.

The “Heavy Duty” build is for those who carry everything out of the Zone that isn’t nailed down. A Drop of Water is the only artifact that increases your carry weight. It pairs well with Liquid Stone (to avoid radiation burns along the way) and a Strange Pot (to reduce hunger and eat less on the trail).

The “Psi Hunter” build is designed for use against mutant psionicists. Only two artifacts provide psionic protection: the Beacon Light and the Flickering Beacon from the DLC. Both are from “The Price of Hope.” Without them, there’s nothing to do in the new locations.

Artifact Farming Mechanics, Detectors, and Spawn Rules

Farming artifacts in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 isn’t just a matter of “come and get it.” There are mechanics that, without understanding, will leave you stumbling around anomalies like a blind kitten.

Detectors. The basic Echo Detector is given at the beginning of the game. It indicates the presence of anomalies and artifacts, but its functionality is limited. It signals with a sound and a flashing blue light. The closer you get to the artifact, the more the meter fills.

The Bear is the next level. Purchased from merchants in Rostock or Yanov. Shows the exact location of the artifact, not just the direction. Highly recommended for serious farming.

How spawning works. Artifacts appear in anomaly fields. After anomalies are released, they “recharge”—you can return to previously checked locations and claim new ones. The best locations for farming are the Scorching Yard near the helicopter base in the Duga region. It has a high respawn rate. But be prepared for thermal anomalies—bring a fireproof suit.

A trick with saving. For the four main legendary artifacts (Compass, Hypercube, Thunder Berry, Liquid Stone), a reload method works. Save 300-400 meters from the anomaly. Approach—no artifact? Reload. It will drop sooner or later.

How to neutralize radiation from artifacts in the Zone

A major headache for stalkers is radiation from their own artifacts. The more powerful the artifact, the more radiation it emits. The Hypercube, Compass, and Thunder Berry are all maxed out. Without protection, you’ll die faster than you can even feel the bonuses.

Method 1: Lead containers. Some suits have a modification for lead containers in the “Container Upgrades” section. These completely neutralize radiation from artifacts, even the maximum level. Such containers are highlighted green in the inventory.

Method 2: Compensating artifacts. Some artifacts provide “radiation protection”—for example, Liquid Stone. Important: “Weak” radiation neutralizes only “weak” radiation, while “maximum” radiation neutralizes only “maximum” radiation. Create a combination: a background artifact + a compensating artifact with the same radiation level.

Method 3: First Aid Kits and Vodka. A temporary solution. Anti-rads, beer, and vodka lower the level. But it’s like plugging a hole with your finger—it doesn’t work permanently.

Method 4: The right suit. Suits and helmets with radiation protection. The effect can be enhanced by artifacts with radiation protection.

Method 5: Mods. On PC, you can install a mod that completely removes radiation from artifacts. For those who just want to play and not fiddle with a calculator.

Earning coupons by farming and selling artifacts profitably

Artifacts in STALKER 2 are the main source of coupons. A common artifact with one positive property sells for at least 2,500, while one with two sells for 7,000. Legendary ones are a different story entirely.

What to sell. Artifacts with high radiation levels or protection against it are valued higher. A strange nut sells for 80,000 coupons. Compass, Hypercube, Liquid Stone — 70,000 each. Thunder Berry — 60,000. Strange Orb — 14,000. Strange Bolt, Strange Water, Strange Pot — 27,604 each.

Where to sell. Not all merchants are equally generous. Gunsmiths and armor merchants give 34.5% of the inventory value. Bartenders and junk dealers only give 23%. The difference is almost 50%. Always take artifacts to gunsmiths.

Difficulty affects the price. Prices are lower on Veteran compared to Novice or Stalker. If you want to sell for more, lower the difficulty before visiting a merchant. Cheating isn’t cheating—it’s smart economics.

Where to farm for sale. The Scorching Yard is the best location for farming. Anomalies respawn there almost constantly. You circle around, collect, sell—and so on. The main thing is not to die in the process.
