To summon the Mountain God Boar in Crimson Desert, you’ll have to get serious about clearing the forest. Patch 1.05.00 adds a secret enemy, hiding in the Pailun region. The local trees won’t be happy, but there’s no other way.

Spoiler: the boss only appears after a thorough “sanitary clearing.” The more tree trunks you destroy, the higher the chance. When the tree count becomes critically low, an enraged boar will materialize in the clearing. The battle is single-phase, but we advise against relaxing—the Legendary beast hits hard.

Where to Find and How to Summon Mountain God Boar in Pailun

First, head to Pailun. The farming point is Odek, north of Wolf Mountain. On the map, this location is also called the area near Silver Wolf Mountain—it has the most trees.

Destroy everything you can reach. The fastest way is with Arrow Bombs. They’re endless (yes, you don’t have to skimp), and one of them can destroy several trees at once. No bombs? Use a Woodcutter’s Axe, hack with swords, or use a Palmara Strike (aka Force Strike). The latter option is the most energetic, but also the most spectacular.

When the tree-cut count crosses an invisible threshold, the Boar God of the Mountain will appear. No additional rituals—just hack until he comes.

And yes, this isn’t a bug. It’s designed that way.

Battle Tactics and Rewards for Defeating Mountain God Boar

The battle begins immediately after spawning. It’s a single phase—no transformations or second forms. But the boss is aggressive, charging with both dashes and fang strikes. Keep your distance if you’re a ranged fighter, or tank with dodges. The reward is legendary resources (the exact list hasn’t been revealed yet, but apparently the skin and fangs will be used to craft top-end gear).

Rage Gauge and Stagger Mechanics in Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert, boss fights aren’t reactive, but a well-thought-out game of aggression control, where every decision matters. The Boar God of the Mountain has a subtle “Rage Gauge” system that fills every time the beast hits a player or destroys arena props. Upon reaching the limit, the boss enters a “Frenzy” state. In this state, it takes 40% less damage, but its dashes become abnormally fast. (Spoiler: surviving this phase is a real treat.)

Boar frenzy rage mode

How to Control Frenzy and Stagger the Boss

The cornerstone of defeating this boss is the proper accumulation of the “Stun” status. To bring down the enraged deity, you need to methodically inflict pinpoint damage to the head.

Below are the optimal tools for the Stagger:

  • Heavy Frontal Attacks: Guarantees a high level of stagger and provides a 3-second window for attacks. The optimal choice is to catch him immediately after the dash ends.
  • Flank and Rear Attacks: Low effectiveness, but a great way to slowly drain the accumulated Fury bar.
  • Fire Damage: Ideal for interrupting casts. Ignite the Boar precisely when it’s preparing to pounce.

Ways to Interrupt Frenzy Phase Using Force Strike

First, always have “Force Strike” ready while the enemy is swinging for a ramming attack. Second, use timing: if you counterattack just as the boss’s head is closing in on you (straight from a dodge), you’ll make significant progress toward the Stagger.

Therefore, the most powerful counterpick remains “Perfect Block.” A clean execution of this move instantly resets the Fury meter and gives you 5-7 seconds to slash the beast with impunity. This is the best time to deal burst damage. What’s next? Repeat the cycle until victory.

Best Skills and Combos to Win the Boss Encounter

The fight, frankly, isn’t rocket science. The main threat is the forward dashes. They’re easy to predict: before attacking, the beast raises its front legs, as if about to dance. If you see them, roll to the side.

What to add? The boss has minions. The small creatures are annoying, but easy to deal with. Use Roundhouse Kick (yes, the one also called Cleave) and any fire-based abilities—Breath of Flame, Volcanic Eruption. Ignite the crowd, don’t skimp on mana.

Combat fire skills attack

The tactics are ridiculously monotonous: dodge, spam Spin Attacks, set it on fire, repeat. Until the boar collapses. No second phases, no tricky mechanics. Boring? Perhaps. But effective.

Loot and Resources from Mountain God Boar in Patch 1.05.00

That’s a bummer. The Mountain God Boar doesn’t offer anything special yet. No unique crafting, no epic skins. And you certainly can’t ride it—unlike the Polar Bear or Silver Fang. Apparently, Pearl Abyss is saving some real treasures for future patches. We hope so.

Incidentally, Crimson Desert is an open-world action game from the creators of Black Desert. It was released on March 19, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Critics gave the game a warm reception, with an average rating of 79 out of 100. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s playable. And the Boar God of the Mountain is just a funny little secret for fans of deforestation.
