Team Spirit beat FUT 3-1 in the Counter-Strike 2 final at the 2026 Esports World Cup. FUT won the Cache map, but Team Spirit answered on the Anubis map, the Ancient map and the Nuke map.

The title was Team Spirit’s second major tournament victory of the year. FUT reached its first final at this level and stayed competitive through three close maps before Team Spirit controlled the last map.

FUT won the opening map on the Cache map

FUT chose the Cache map and won 13-10. The team began with confident attacks and did not allow the size of the final to change its style. Team Spirit recovered from a slow start and created several multi-kill rounds, but FUT protected its advantage. Winning the opponent’s first map choice can change a long match, yet Team Spirit still had room to answer in the best-of-five format.

The opening result also showed that FUT had prepared for an unfamiliar matchup. The two teams had not met before this final, so the first rounds provided important information about their pace and positions.

Team Spirit answered on the Anubis map and the Ancient map

Team Spirit won the Anubis map 16-13 and made the match score 1-1. The extra rounds showed how small the difference was. One saved weapon or one successful opening duel could affect the next buy. the Ancient map was also decided after a close finish. FUT came near a difficult late-round win, but Team Spirit survived and took the map 16-14. The result gave Team Spirit a 2-1 lead in the match.

Losing two long maps placed heavy pressure on FUT. Players had little time to reset their focus before the Nuke map began.

Team Spirit controlled the Nuke map from the first half

Team Spirit built a 10-2 lead by halftime on the Nuke map. Its attacks found weak points early, while FUT struggled to keep enough equipment for a full defence. The large gap changed the final half. Team Spirit did not need to force unusual plays and could trade one player for another while protecting the advantage.

FUT won only three more rounds. Team Spirit completed the map 13-5 and ended the final without requiring a fifth map.

The final gave both teams an important result

Team Spirit added the EWC trophy to its earlier title from PGL Astana. The team also ended a difficult run against Vitality during the route to the final. FUT did not win the trophy, but its first major final confirmed the progress of a young roster. The players defeated strong opponents and won a map against Team Spirit in the title match.

The four-map final offered a clear lesson. FUT matched Team Spirit in close situations, but Team Spirit recovered faster after each setback and was much stronger on the last map.

Team Spirit handled the long final better

The first three maps required concentration through close endings and extra rounds. Team Spirit did not allow the loss on the Cache map to change communication on the Anubis map. the Ancient map became the key mental test. FUT came close to taking the map, but Team Spirit survived the final attempts and reached the Nuke map with a 2-1 lead.

FUT then had to recover from two narrow defeats without a long break.

Team Spirit entered the last map with clearer decisions and stronger economy control. The 10-2 half removed the pressure of another close finish and allowed the team to complete the title with simple trades.

FUT leave the event with a stronger position

The final defeat was clear on the Nuke map, but FUT had already reached a new level for the roster. Close maps against Team Spirit showed that the team can compete under pressure.

The next improvement is recovery after a narrow loss. A team cannot carry the final round of the Ancient map into the first round of the Nuke map. A short reset routine can help players return to the current map.

Team Spirit combined individual form with a clear team plan

Donk earned the player award, but the final was not decided by one player acting alone. Team Spirit created trades around the first duel and kept useful grenades for the last part of each round. That structure turned strong aim into repeatable map wins.

FUT challenged Team Spirit on the Cache map, the Anubis map and the Ancient map. The difference became larger on the Nuke map because Team Spirit read the defensive positions early and protected its economy. FUT had fewer complete buys and less freedom to change the setup.

The trophy completes a demanding event for Team Spirit. The team recovered after losing the first map and stayed calm through two close finishes. It then produced its most controlled half when the title was one map away.
