NetEase has officially revealed the details of the 6.5 update for Marvel Rivals. The patch will be released on February 13, 2026, and will add a new character, Elsa Bloodstone, massive balance changes, and a redesign of team synergies. The new release of Dev Vision has confirmed everything that the esports community was wondering about — we are waiting for a new heroine, a shake-up of the balance and a bunch of chips that will clearly change the balance of power in the ladder.

Elsa Bloodstone is a new hero in the 6.5 Marvel Rivals Update

New Duellist

Let’s start with the main thing — Elsa Bloodstone joins the ranks of the duelists, whom we, in principle, have already glimpsed in the teasers of the sixth season. The character, in fact, turns out to be extremely mobile and unpleasant for opponents — a real gift for those who like an aggressive style of play.

She has a double-barreled shotgun in her hands, which can shoot bursts, but this is only a small part. Elsa knows how to set traps that stop enemies dead, and her mobility is ensured by sharp jerks and uppercuts — getting away from her will be another challenge.

Shooting at a distance is interestingly implemented: a “Live bullet” can ricochet off walls, splitting into parts and covering several opponents with damage at once — can you imagine what kind of chaos there will be in cramped corridors? Plus, she can draw her rifle at any moment. A single shot from it becomes much more painful if you have previously used some kind of movement skill.

The ultimate is generally a separate topic. Elsa summons the Glartrox— a monster that demolishes everything in its path. Moreover, the monster can be recalled back, and it will drag in its mouth all the poor devils that it managed to chew on the way — it looks decent, really.

Elsa Bloodstone and the new Draft meta Ignite 2026

Verticaly and high ground control

In the esports arena of the Ignite 2026 tournaments, Elsa Bloodstone suddenly became the very factor that makes team captains sweat even before the match starts. Her set of abilities, completely tied to vertical dominance, turns any hill into an impregnable fortress. Dash and well-placed traps allow her to literally reign over the heads of her opponents. When “Live Bullets” come into play in conjunction with Deadpool, the enemy team below simply loses its orientation — the blinding effect, coupled with the hail of damage from above, makes being in the open spaces of Yggsgard or Wakanda a fatal mistake.

Right now, there is a clear trend in the competitive priority of choosing the current esports patch 6.5 meta: Elsa is taken away as soon as meta bans purge mobile characters like Wolverine or Venom. If these guys are in the bathhouse, Bloodstone becomes an ideal tool for controlling key points. However, this is only one side of the coin, because the real mind game begins when it comes to blocking.

Ban statistics and protection kits in patch 6.5

Elsa Highground Analysis — Meta Overview

Aspect Elsa’s Highground Advantages Draft Comparison
Mobility Dash + Instinct cooldown reduction allows for quick highground positioning and escaping dives. Better than Psylocke (less CC), but vulnerable to Phoenix if not banned.
Damage / CC Traps stun approaching enemies; Ultimate with Glatrox knocks targets down for teammates. Outperforms Deadpool in poke meta; ban rate rising to 25% in patch 6.5.
Synergy Team-up with Deadpool strengthens anti-flank from highground; ideal for Convoy/Domination. In Ignite 2026, VP and NaVi ban rivals like Hulk to ensure pure highground dominance.

Professional teams are well aware that leaving Elsa open means signing a verdict on their backline. The current percentage of the heroine’s ban in the middle of the season ranges from 20-30%, and this number increases in proportion to the number of levels on the map. In locations like Hellfire Gala, her style of play fundamentally changes the entire draft meta. With one successful ult, she is able to smash to pieces any defensive formation that the enemy has been building for half a round.

Interestingly, the teams began to optimize themselves by selecting heavy tanks for it. The same Thing is now increasingly appearing in peaks precisely in order to cement positions and somehow contain this pressure from above. The meta-draft of Marvel Rivals is currently revolving around one question: Will you be able to knock Elsa off her pedestal or will you become a victim of her vertical tension?

Balance Changes in Update 6.5 of Marvel Rivals

Deadpool characters marvel rivals

The developers also went through the meta of 2026, and here, to be honest, many top characters will have a hard time. Balance is a delicate thing, and NetEase decided to pull in the outsiders, while reassuring the most popular characters.

The situation among the Avant-Garde is curious. Rogue and Venoma decided to strengthen — it seemed they lacked survivability. Dr. Strange, on the other hand, had his stats slightly cut off. A clever scheme was worked out with Thor: the bonus health from the “Storm Surge” dropped from 75 to 50 units, but now for each hit with a “Hammer Throw” the thunder god restores 50 HP to himself — aggressive gameplay is now a priority, and rightly so.

It’s hot in the Dueling camp too:

Buffs: Deadpool, Wolverine, Punisher, Squirrel and Star-Lord. It looks like the old guard is getting back on track.
Nerfanuli: Psylocke, Phoenix and Moon Knight — apparently, their dominance in esports has become too obvious.

The storm was rebuilt. Now, in Tornado mode, using Windblade and Lightning gives her shields, and in Thunder mode, the ability gain decreases faster with accurate hits. Another important point is that buffs for allies now hang for an extra two seconds after leaving the aura, rather than disappearing immediately. This, believe me, will greatly simplify the life of the team in the kneading.

As for the Strategists, Ultron has become stronger, and Loki and the Invisible Woman, unfortunately for their mainers, have been weakened. But Adam Warlock is now a real imba. With a full charge of energy, he can fly for as long as four seconds, and the “Soul Connection” no longer prevents him from attacking — this, in fact, turns him into a full-fledged combat unit, and not just a “first-aid kit” on legs. Everything will happen on February 13th — it will be really hot!

New Team Synergies and Team Up in Patch 6.5

But, to be honest, the real chaos will begin not because of the bare damage figures, but because of the processing of team attacks. NetEase, apparently, decided to finally blow up the brain of the theory makers — they cut out the old bundles and rolled out such combos that professional teams are already dizzy with.

The most high—profile decision is the complete removal of the classic “Fantastic Four” synergy. Previously, the Invisible Woman, the Creature, and Mr. Fantastic could smear themselves with shields until they turned blue, but now this shop is closed. However, the fans have no time to grieve — much more aggressive options have come to replace them.

Take a look at what they did with Deadpool’s “Toy Box.” Elsa Bloodstone joined the gang, and now her “Live Bullet” does not just ricochet, but puts a hard debuff on enemies, while Elsa herself heals when returning cartridges. This, in fact, turns their duo into a self-sufficient killing machine. The Hulk also did not stay away — a Creature was pulled up to his “Gamma charge”, which now hits the “Rock Blow” so far and painfully that it will not be possible to hide even at the other end of the map.

But Rocket has now joined forces with Mr. Fantastic. Their “Rocket Network” now allows you to stretch the Richards elasticity scale beyond the limit of 100 points — imagine how much control he can give out in a protracted batch. But the icing on the cake is “Psionic Chaos.” The combination of the Invisible Woman and Doctor Strange turns the “Vortex of Madness” into a black hole that not only pulls all the poor devils together, but also floods tons of bonus HP for your entire team. By the way, it is precisely such bundles that make casual players cry, and pro players frantically review their strategies before upcoming events.

New Social Hub and Monster Kingdom Championship Tournament

Marvel Rivals is getting new features

The developers, by the way, did not forget about those who come into the game just to “flex” new skins or chat. A real wedding parade will unfold at the social center in Times Square on February 14 – it looks quite unusual for a heroic shooter, really. And a little later, the Spring Festival will be celebrated there, where it will be possible to stuff in-game units almost out of thin air.

But the most interesting part for those who feel the strength of a champion will begin on February 21. The Monster Kingdom Championship tournament is, in fact, the local equivalent of PlayStation Cups, where there are no restrictions on rank or platform at all. The scheme is harsh: we play five rounds, three wins — you’re covered in chocolate, three defeats — you’re out in disgrace. Everything is given as a reward: from nameplates to unstable molecules. It looks like NetEase is serious about turning Marvel Rivals into a discipline where everyone can grab their piece of the pie. And here it’s time to ask — what will happen to the big arena?

Marvel Rivals Ignite 2026 and the New Esports Meta

Marvel Rivals Impact Esports

This whole array of changes in season 6.5—from Elsa’s sudden appearance to Adam Warlock’s buffs—leads to one point: the launch of Marvel Rivals Ignite 2026. Now the main question is in the air: will Bloodstone be able to move mastodons like Phoenix or Psylocke? These ladies dominated the sixth season so harshly that their faces are already familiar to everyone, but nerfs can change everything.

Doctor Strange, who was already firmly in third place on the PC, has now received an Invisible Woman as a partner. This duo will become the basis of a new meta-game — if they are not “strangled” in the upcoming micro-patches. To tell the truth, we are in for the most unpredictable season in the history of the game. Professional teams have already started rolling out new line-ups, and, apparently, on February 13 we will see a completely different Marvel Rivals. So get your devices ready — the battle for the TOP 1 promises to be as dirty and spectacular as possible.
