Nick Apostolides, who provided the voice and likeness for Leon S. Kennedy in Resident Evil Requiem, revealed in an interview on the Play, Watch, Listen+ YouTube channel that a specific line of dialogue didn’t make the final cut. Judging by the community’s reaction, Capcom might have missed out on one of the standout moments of this 2026 horror title.

The line was intended for the battle against the Titan Spinner—a giant, spider-like B.O.W. that became one of the game’s most memorable bosses. According to Apostolides, the phrase was meant to be delivered in the heat of that spine-chilling fight. And he actually recorded it.

“When fighting the spider, I wanted to say—and we recorded it—’You know, you’ve been a real itsy-bitsy pain in my ass.’ It would’ve been a killer line.”

The line plays on the nursery rhyme “Itsy Bitsy Spider”—an ironic touch, given that the spider in Requiem is anything but tiny. That kind of contrasting humor is a Leon trademark, and fans instantly appreciated it.

Apostolides himself admitted it was his favorite line from the entire project. He didn’t just talk about it, either; he delivered the line during the interview in his signature deep Leon voice, effectively gifting the community a ready-made audio clip.

“We got robbed!” — Fan reactions on X and beyond

As soon as the interview clip hit the web, social media exploded. One user on X wrote, “WE WAS ROBBED!”—a comment that instantly went viral. Others jumped on the bandwagon, claiming Capcom had “robbed” fans by depriving them of that perfect Leon-esque quip. Reactions were mixed. Some players genuinely regret that the line ended up on the cutting room floor. Others, conversely, are glad: “He already has enough one-liner jokes in Requiem. Thank God they cut that one.” Someone quipped that Leon acts like a “dad” in Requiem, complete with typical “dad humor.” Yet, even the negative comments only fueled interest in the situation.

Why modders are already laying the groundwork?

The most interesting part is that Apostolides didn’t just talk about the line; he actually delivered it during an interview in his signature deep Leon voice—and fans heard it.

Now, there is active online discussion about a mod that would restore the phrase to the game. The audio already exists; all that remains is to trigger it at the right moment during the Titan Spinner fight. The Resident Evil Requiem modding community is quite active, with mods available that alter gameplay, visuals, and more. Adding a single voice line to a boss fight is a technically feasible task.

While Capcom prepares a new expansion for Requiem, fans are already taking matters into their own hands. And by the looks of it, that “little pain in the neck” will make it into the game after all—albeit unofficially.
