Maniac

Maniac (real name: Mathieu Quiquerez) is a legendary Swiss Counter-Strike figure known for his analytical mind and long-standing contribution to the game. He played professionally under the nickname Maniac CS:GO and became especially well-known during the early CS:GO era, competing for teams like LDLC, Titan, and Team EnVyUs. Although his active player career ended in 2018, Maniac CS2 remains a vital part of the Counter-Strike ecosystem. Today, he’s one of the most respected analysts in the CS scene, regularly appearing at top-tier tournaments like ESL One, BLAST Premier, and IEM, breaking down plays and offering strategic insight for both CS:GO and CS2 audiences. Mathieu’s journey started with Counter-Strike Beta 6.5, playing on his cousin’s setup – which led to his unique choice to play with mouse inversion, a rare trait in the pro scene. As CS Maniac, he quickly gained attention for his focus, discipline, and communication. Highlights as a pro:

Since late 2018, he’s worked across top-tier events, respected for his deep understanding of in-game psychology, tactical decisions, and team dynamics. His popularity rose even higher during the transition to Counter-Strike 2, where fans of Maniac CS2 appreciated his breakdowns of the game's new economy system, grenade mechanics, and meta shifts. One of the few players ever to use inverted mouse settings, Maniac_CSGO stood out not only for his gameplay but also for adapting to unusual control preferences.
