Choosing the right franchise in MyCareer mode for NBA 2K27 is crucial. If your character plays the point guard position, building a career on a team with a budding star point guard is pointless. The ideal choice is based on three factors: the lack of a top point guard, the presence of powerful big men for pick-and-rolls, and the presence of shooters on the arc. Roster age is also important, as the roster should grow in tandem with your MP’s stats.

Miami Heat: Alliance with Giannis and Bam

The Florida Heat’s point guard roster is currently built without any particular aspirations for superstardom:

  • D. Mitchell — 77 rating, 27 years old
  • D. Smith — 73 rating, 28 years old
  • T. Donaldson — 68 rating, 22 years old

The arrival of Giannis Antetokounmpo radically changes the Heat’s lineup. Earning a starting spot is incredibly easy, given Mitchell’s modest 77. That leaves Giannis and Bam Adebayo on the court—the perfect forward duo capable of grabbing any rebound, finishing alley-oops, and holding down the defense while you take full control of the offense.

Houston Rockets: A Title Contender with Kevin Durant

Texans’ backcourt situation:

  • R. Sheppard — 79 rating, 22 years old
  • F. VanVleet — 79 rating, 32 years old
  • B. Thornton — 70 rating, 23 years old

The quality depth of Sheppard and the aging VanVleet won’t prevent him from carving out a starting spot. The main goal here is obvious: to compete for the starting job in his first year. The roster has enormous potential: rising star Amen Thompson, center Alperen Sengun, and Kevin Durant. Until Durant retires or demands a trade, this group of players is primed for the highest possible goals.

Brooklyn Nets: Battle of New York vs. Brunson

Brooklyn’s current starting picks:

  • N. Traore — 76 rating, 20 years old
  • M. Brown Jr. — 74 rating, 20 years old
  • B. Saraf — 73 rating, 20 years old

The Nets’ top assets are Michael Porter Jr. and Julius Randle. While their Knicks neighbors are hoarding trophies, Brooklyn has been stagnating for years. A trio of 20-year-old point guards won’t be a matchup—your player will easily take over the leadership role to restore the New York Derby to its former sizzle.

Dallas Mavericks: Entering the Cooper Flagg Era

Who’s playing point guard:

  • K. Irving — 87 rating, 34 years old
  • M. Sasser — 74 rating, 25 years old

Kyrie Irving is increasingly sidelined due to injuries, and Sasser is the only backup. Given the right timing, your rookie could quickly seize the momentum. The Mavericks’ biggest advantage is the opportunity to develop alongside Cooper Flagg and Derick Lively II, creating a new threat in Texas.

Sacramento Kings: Pick-and-rolls with Sabonis

Point guard roster:

  • D. Acuff Jr. — 75 rating, 19 years old
  • A. Flagler — 67 rating, 26 years old

The only serious competition at the position is rookie Darius Acuff Jr. The presence of Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine creates the perfect combination: Sabonis will provide the most effective double-screening, while LaVine will provide perimeter coverage.
