Metroidvania Fallen Tear: The Ascension is finally leaving Early Access—the full PC release on Steam will take place on September 16th. Developers Winter Crew and publisher CMD Studios have set the price at $24.99 (around 2000 rubles), with a 10% discount for the first two weeks. For an indie title with hand-drawn animation and full voice acting, this is a decent starting price, especially considering its scope.

Early Access was worth it—the final version roughly doubles the content. Where there were 10 regions, there will be 20; six main bosses will be 11; and the number of optional enemies will jump from three to 22. But most importantly, the Fateful Bonds system, which changes combat and exploration, will receive 11 new allies. Hira’s progression is also expanding: three additional Ascensions, six new Hunter skills, four Elemental Infusions, and 16 Mastery skills at levels III and IV. Ultimately, the story campaign is 35-40 hours long, and for perfectionists, 80+.

Updates and Content in the Full Version of Fallen Tear

Creative Director Stephen Manalastas admitted that community feedback during Early Access influenced everything from balance to the feeling of bonds in combat. On September 16th, the story will conclude: new regions, new bonds, and, finally, the ending, envisioned from the very beginning, will open.

Therefore, the developers focused on depth. Here’s what will be doubled (and even more):

  • Regions – +10 large, interconnected zones (from 10 to 20).
  • Primary Bosses – +5 new (11 total).
  • Optional Bosses – +19 (from 3 to 22).
  • Fated Bonds – +11 new allies (21 total).
  • Skills and progression – three Ascension levels, new Hunter skill trees, elemental infusions, and Mastery skills.

The full suite of combat and exploration mechanics will be available from day one – no “we’ll finish it later.”

Fallen Tear The Ascension Discount Price and Localization

At launch, the game will support English, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese. Oddly, French, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese, and Korean will only appear after release – but the developers have promised to bring them to you in upcoming patches. Console versions are also planned, but no timeframe has been announced yet.

A 10% discount for the first 14 days is standard, but for those who waited until the game left Early Access, it’s a nice bonus. Incidentally, you can already add the game to your wishlist on Steam and stay tuned for more news.

New Fallen Tear The Ascension Trailer and Gameplay

A new trailer accompanies this news—it shows off new bosses, regions, and, of course, the Fated Bonds in action. It looks dynamic, especially for fans of fast-paced side-scrollers with RPG elements.

Will Fallen Tear stand out in the oversaturated Metroidvania market? With double the content and the allies system, the chances are good. The main thing is that the ending doesn’t disappoint. Are you considering this game or are you passing it by?
