With the Hot Bat Summer update (July 16, 2026), Fortnite introduced an exotic consumable—the Golden Apple. It is rare and looks impressive, but it is actually a sign of life, not a weapon of vengeance. If you are lucky enough to find one, it will restore 50 health and activate a low-gravity effect for 9 seconds. It does not deal any damage, unlike the mythical Goldfish.

Where to find the Golden Apple in Fortnite
You should look for this fruit exclusively in Produce Boxes—small cardboard boxes containing food scattered throughout buildings and POIs. If you see a golden item with a blue glow in one of these boxes, do not miss it—it is the one. However, be warned: the drop is extremely rare, and purposefully running through every box on the map is a waste of time.

Is it worth looking for the Golden Apple this season
The short answer is no. Sprite hunting is more useful this season. They provide more valuable buffs and appear consistently throughout the event. Especially since Hot Bat Summer is built around questlines and rewards like Batman Sprite, not random loot from crates. If you are not a collector, abandon this idea and focus on farming Sprites or completing weekly quests.
Practical advice: if you really want to dig through crates, do it in large POIs like Wonkeeland—they have a high loot concentration, plus you can combine it with finding the secret Batcave. But there is no point in chasing just the apple—the event will offer you much more interesting goals.
