SCS Software has revealed new details of the Coaches DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, along with fresh screenshots of Icelandic bridges from another expansion. The first features buses with cameras, RGB lighting, and a passenger satisfaction system. The second features single-lane crossings and views of glacial rivers. There’s no release date yet, but the Coaches page is already on Steam.

Overview of the Coaches DLC features for Euro Truck Simulator 2
In a new blog post, the developers at SCS Software revealed the technical details of the bus expansion. It turns out the add-on does not just transfer the player from the truck cab to the bus driver seat—it adds a whole host of meticulously crafted mechanics previously unavailable in ETS2.
Technical Features and Interior of the New Buses
Let’s start with the little details that create atmosphere. An electronic display indicating the route final stop will appear above the windshield. It will be removable—an optional accessory, not a mandatory one. The sunshades are also adjustable, and in some models they will be divided into left and right sections. Considering that buses have significantly larger windshields than trucks, glare was a pressing issue.
Rearview cameras are another feature we have not seen before in ETS2. When you engage reverse, the camera feed automatically replaces the navigation on the dashboard screen. This is especially useful in cramped bus stations, which SCS claims to have recreated as realistically as possible.
The interior will also be something to look at. Two types of lighting will be available: standard ceiling light (useful at night stops) and ambient RGB lighting with a choice of colors. Yes, you can now customize the interior lighting to suit your mood—or the color of the bus.
How the passenger satisfaction system works in ETS 2
But the main new feature is not the hardware. The Coaches DLC will introduce a mechanic previously unavailable in ETS2: passenger satisfaction. SCS previously demonstrated this in a 17-minute gameplay video featuring the MAN Lion Coach, which traveled between Duisburg and Rotterdam.
The system works like this: Each virtual passenger has their own sensitivity. Some will not notice abrupt braking, while others will perceive even a light press of the pedal as a personal insult. Passengers board the bus with varying moods, and the driver job is to improve their mood by the next stop. This mechanic goes beyond anything SCS has offered in previous DLCs.
If the journey between stops is perfect, the player receives a bonus to overall satisfaction. At the end of the trip, statistics are displayed, showing how passengers rated the trip and how well you performed. At the same time, you need to keep to the schedule—and, as the developers point out, these two factors work against each other. “Driving with passengers truly feels completely different and creates a whole new challenge on the road,” game designer Vojtěch P. wrote in a November blog post. “The player must be attentive and anticipate much more.”
The DLC includes licensed bus models: Scania Touring, Volvo 9700 DD, and MAN Lion Coach with a MAN D26 engine. The add-on page is now available on Steam, and you can add it to your wishlist.

Alongside the buses, the cartography team unveiled fresh screenshots of the Icelandic DLC. This time, the focus is on bridges.
Iceland has many of them, and each one is unique. Modern concrete bridges stand side by side with old steel structures that have served travelers for decades. In remote areas, single-lane bridges exist, where vehicles from both sides must carefully share the road. These crossings have become the hallmark of Icelandic roads.
The developers emphasize that each bridge was designed with both realism and driving pleasure in mind. The terrain, markings, barriers, signs, and surrounding landmarks are all carefully crafted. Many crossings offer picturesque views, adding variety to the Icelandic landscapes—glacial rivers, valleys, and mountains.
The key highway of the DLC is the Ring Road (Route 1), which encircles the entire island. It’s on this route and the surrounding areas that players will encounter most of the bridges. An underwater tunnel, another of Iceland engineering landmarks, is also mentioned.
Coaches and Iceland DLC Release Date for Euro Truck Simulator 2
The main unanswered question. SCS Software has not revealed a release date for either DLC. Coaches is in active development, and its Steam page is already open, but there is no timeline. It’s the same story with Iceland: teasers are regularly released, but there is no release date yet.
Judging by the pace of publications, both DLCs could be released before the end of 2026. But SCS is known for its “we will announce it when it is ready” approach. So, all you can do is keep an eye on the blog and add Coaches to your wishlist—so you do not miss the moment when the developers finally say, “It’s time.”
