The final mission in Padre’s questline—The Other Cheek—sends Edward Kenway to Kingston to track down the mysterious Bishop. It’s a tricky mission: the search area is massive, and three clues are scattered across the city. We’ve mapped out all the locations so you won’t waste a single minute. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced was released on July 9, 2026, so this guide is fully up-to-date for the current version of the game.

Guide to Padre’s final quest The Other Cheek

Padre (aka Abel Galvão) is one of three new naval officers Edward can recruit for the Jackdaw. Unlike standard crew members, these guys offer tangible bonuses rather than just loitering on deck. Recruiting Padre grants you the Ram-Dash ability—a ramming attack that deals heavy damage to enemy ships. Plus, completing his entire storyline rewards you with a rare amulet.

How to find and recruit Padre in Resynced

Padre is a former pirate who left his old life behind for the sake of faith. But, as always, the past will not let go. You can find him on the small island of Punta del Caracol in the southeastern part of the map (coordinates roughly 918, 340). The recruitment quest unlocks after completing the main mission This Old Cove in Sequence 4.

Padre on tropical island

Why bother with Padre? First, Ram-Dash is a lifesaver in naval battles. Second, his personal story is one of the darkest and most powerful in Resynced. Without spoilers: the conclusion of his questline hits hard.

Where to find all three clues in Kingston

Upon arriving in Kingston, head to the mission marker and wait for nightfall—the Padre only appears after dark. After the cutscene, Abel explains that the Bishop travels exclusively at night, so you must gather clues before picking up his trail. Here is where all three are located.

First clue on the market square

Head north to the market square. You’ll see a group of townspeople gathered around a notice board. Interact with the Warning Note pinned to the board—that’s the first clue. Quick and simple.

Second clue with the letter near the barn

This is where things get interesting. Do not waste time searching the entire area; go straight to the large barn by the waterfront. You do not need to go inside. Instead, look at the shoreline near the barn. Two civilians are chatting there. One of them mentions carrying an invitation—that’s exactly what we need.

Sneak up behind him and pick his pocket. Silently.

Third clue and eavesdropping at the docks

Kingston docks at night

The final clue awaits to the south, in the dock area. Two more townspeople are discussing how the Bishop secretly holds prayers in the woods at night. Just eavesdrop on their conversation, and the third clue is yours. No theft, no risk.

Secrets to completing the mission stealthily

Stealth mechanics in Resynced have undergone a major overhaul: you can now crouch, and eavesdropping missions no longer fail instantly if you are spotted. However, the The Other Cheek mission has one annoying catch.

Step-by-step guide to the theft near the barn

You must approach the civilian strictly from behind. Do not run or sprint—just use a stealthy walk. Press the steal button when you are right next to them. That’s it.

Warning: a bug. The current version of the game has a glitch: if you are spotted while pickpocketing, the process is interrupted, and you cannot try again. There is no oops, let us try again—only reloading a save or taking drastic measures.

How to handle the bug problem

You have two options:

Load a previous save. This is the cleanest method, but if you have not saved in a while, you will lose progress.

Eliminate the civilian and take the invitation from their body. Yes, it is brutal. Yes, it raises an alarm. But it works. If you choose this path, act quickly and leave the area before the guards arrive.

According to forums, a patch fixing this bug is expected in the coming days, but for now, proceed with caution.

Safe eavesdropping in the docks area

It’s simple here. Approach the docks, stand within earshot, and just wait. No buttons, no actions—the dialogue will start automatically. The key is not to stand too close, or you might get spotted. A distance of 5–7 meters is optimal.

Rewards for completing The Other Cheek

Immediately after gathering all three clues, return to Padre and follow him to the marked location. Next comes clearing the forest of enemies, a fight against the Bishop and his guards, and the final cutscene. And that’s it.

List of bonuses for completing all Padre missions

For recruiting him: the Ram-Dash ability.

For completing the entire questline: the Little Chalice rare amulet, which boosts health regeneration from food.

Related achievements and hidden trophies

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced features 49 trophies, all obtainable offline on any difficulty setting. The hidden achievement Memory of an Enemy is directly linked to the The Other Cheek mission; to unlock it, you must display all character portraits in the Great Inagua manor. Since the Padre is one of these characters, you cannot earn this trophy without completing his questline.

Battle with the Bishop and the final showdown

After returning to the Padre, he will lead you into the forest. Along the way, you will need to clear out several groups of enemies. They are not particularly difficult, but it is best to avoid making noise—unnecessary skirmishes will only waste time.

At the end of the path, the Bishop awaits, surrounded by guards. Kill everyone and speak to the Bishop; the final cutscene will trigger automatically. The mission is complete.

Final Bishop boss fight

Verdict: The Other Cheek is not the longest mission, but it is one of the most atmospheric in the Padre’s questline. The main thing is to avoid messing up the theft at the barn. It’s an annoying bug, but it can be worked around. Complete it, and you will gain the ability, the amulet, and progress toward the Platinum trophy. It’s worth it.
