Eternal Fire signs Kvem: transfer details, reasons, and debut match - Image 1

Eternal Fire have finally finalized their fifth player deal—Ukrainian rifler Kvem has joined the roster. The official announcement came on the evening of July 6, although rumors had been circulating since last week. For a team seeking stability after the departure of Calyx, this isn’t just a replacement, but a bet on an aggressive style and a fresh perspective. Kvem, known for his time with BCGame and several European mixed teams, has signed a contract until the end of 2027—with an option for an extension, according to insiders. Interestingly, the player himself admitted that he had options from Team Falcons and was even considered as a replacement for NAVI Junior, but ultimately chose the Turkish team. Why? Apparently, Eternal Fire’s coach played a decisive role, building a system around Kvem rather than simply fitting him into the old structure. This is evident even in the first practice sessions—Kvem is enjoying more freedom on the map than he did in BCGame, where he was often pinned down as a support.

Kvem’s career is a story of gradual ascent. Starting out in the Ukrainian scene, he quickly outgrew local tournaments and made appearances for a number of European teams, but his real breakthrough came at BCGame. There, he cut his teeth at major events, made a name for himself with highlights on Mirage, and even reached the top 20 of the HLTV rankings for 2025. However, conflict was brewing within the team—the players were clashing over the meta, and Kvem, in his words, “lost his drive.” His departure from BCGame was expected, but where to go was a difficult question. Falcons offered money, NAVI Junior offered prestige, but Eternal Fire gave him something more valuable: a clear plan for the season and a promise to revise their tactics to suit his strengths. Furthermore, the Turkish roster has been in the top 10 for several years now, and with Kvem, they are clearly aiming for a breakthrough at the Major.

What’s next? Kvem’s official debut is expected on July 12th at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups tournament. Eternal Fire has been grouped with G2 and Vitality, which will be a serious test. But judging by the players’ attitude and early picks in practice, the team has no intention of sitting back. Kvem has already confirmed that he will be playing on the rifle rather than the entry lane, meaning XANTARES gets more space, and the pairing with Wicadia could become a new force to be reckoned with. So the coming weeks will tell whether the management’s risk was worth it. In any case, the transfer has already shaken up the scene, and now Eternal Fire will see twice as many viewers following them.
