Deadlock developers decided to add a bit of magical madness to the game by introducing Celeste, the fifth character to enter the roster along with the “Old Gods, New Blood” update. After the Venator, the appearance of this “Dazzling” unicorn looks, to be honest, as contrasting as possible. When rainbow sparks and sunlight meet with a bloodbath on the battlefield, she appears on the scene.

Celeste’s Origin and biography in the World of Deadlock
Visually, of course, Celeste stands out from the general range: lavender mane, horn and a magic wand in her hands instead of the usual firearms. In fact, there is a rather gloomy background behind this fabulous image.

She used to rock on Coney Island.
For years, she hid in plain sight at the local circus, because the crowd mistook her real magical appearance for ordinary stage makeup. She had her own gang there: Cheruba the mermaid, Ted and Lenny — a real family. However, the idyll collapsed when one of her loved ones managed to lose his soul at cards. Now Celeste, in fact, is forced to risk anonymity in front of “Patrons” in order to get her friend out of debt.
Description of the abilities and ultimates of the hero Celeste

Gameplay Celeste is a hellish mix of high damage and survivability. Interestingly, by the way, during a melee attack, her horn begins to shine, after which she rams the enemy.
The main feature of the hero, apparently, lies in physics: Deadlock Intel reports that Celeste has reduced gravity and better control in the air. She literally hovers over the map while her wand (8 charges in the base) spits out magical lead.
That’s what she can do on the mouthpiece:
-
Devourer of light: Strikes with a cone in front of him, causing damage to the spirit and, importantly, gives a lot of vampirism for each opponent touched.
-
Dazzling trick: He puts a shield on himself and accelerates. If the barrier bursts, the surrounding enemies receive “silence” and a portion of reflected damage.
-
Shining Daggers: A thin beam to the point that will not only damage, but also buffs your spirit damage.
-
Shining Miracle (Ulta): A ricochet ball that can bounce up to 18 times, slowing down everyone in its path.
In short, the character promises to be an extremely unpleasant opponent in direct hands, especially considering her mobility.
However, while players are mastering Celeste’s magical passes, the Deadlock meta continues to mutate, forcing analysts to review the shooting lists in anticipation of the next balance edits.
Deadlock online record on Steam and the release of Apollo

The debut of the magical unicorn, in fact, became the final chord for the large-scale patch “Old Gods, new Blood”. Insiders, by the way, are already rubbing their hands: this Thursday, Apollo, the sixth and last hero of this cycle, is scheduled to join the roster.
Immediately after Celeste became available, Deadlock broke through another “concrete” slab in Steam statistics. Today, the counter of simultaneous users froze at 125,665 people — and this is, for a second, the best result since that very hype “launch” more than a year ago.
Thanks to this breakthrough, the Valve project has unceremoniously broken into the top 5 most popular titles on the platform. Deadlock, in fact, left behind such mastodons as PUBG and Marvel Rivals, second only to the eternal leaders in the face of Dota 2, CS2, Rust and new Arc Raiders. Curiously, the game is still hanging in the closed alpha stage “only by invitations”, but at the same time it manages to build a loyal fan base faster than the official releases of competitors.
However, such figures are not only a reason for pride, but also a huge responsibility for the server infrastructure, which will soon be tested for strength with the release of Apollo.
