To be honest, the information we have studied will shock you. Alpha7 Esports — those Brazilian monsters — have finally taken their toll. Bangkok, apparently, became a happy city for them, because it was there, at Siam Paragon, that they snatched the title of PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) champions. And yes, it’s not just a cup — it’s the lion’s share of the crazy prize pool of $3 million (~2.24 million pounds). By the way, the tournament was held in parallel with the PC world championship within PUBG UNITED 2025, and, to be honest, the mobile scene even surpassed the “big brother” in terms of passion.

But let’s start in order — there is something to discuss, especially considering the announcements for 2026.

Alpha7 esports path to the Grand finals

Admittedly, the guys’ path to gold was, to put it mildly, not a walk in the park. First came the second place at PUBG Mobile Super League Americas Fall 2025. Not bad, but not enough for a direct invite. They had to go through Gauntlet, that hellish elimination stage.

Imagine that for a second:

  • 18 matches in three days.
  • Nerves are on edge.
  • We need to get into the top 7.

They did it, and not least, they flew into the Grand Finals. There, by the way, the “sharks” were already waiting for them: the reigning 2024 champions DPLUS, the dangerous and trained Regnum Carya Esports (formerly Regnum Carya Bra) and, surprisingly, R8 Esports, which generally topped the ranking with 154 points. There can be no talk about DRX at all — these guys broke up the group stage, gaining 179 points. It would seem that there are few chances, right?

The results of the final matches in Bangkok

The finale is a different story. 16 teams, three days, 18 skating rinks. Alpha7 started, frankly, sluggishly and without motivation. In the first match, we kind of got caught up in the top 3, and then we failed. Three rounds in a row — quick departure, zero impact. The fans have probably already been drinking validol.

But on the second day, apparently, the coach found the right words (or slippers), because the Brazilians turned the game around. A series of victories in the 8th and 9th maps — and now they are already in the lead. It’s beautiful, you can’t say anything.

The principle of operation of the smash rules system

And here’s the most interesting thing — KRAFTON turned on chaos mode on the third day. They introduced Smash Rules (the rules of “Destruction”, in a simple way).

The scheme, by the way, breaks the brain, but adds adrenaline:

  1. The number of points of the leader after the 12th game is taken.
  2. 10 points are added.
  3. This becomes the “Threshold”.
  4. Anyone who crosses the threshold gets the “match point” status.
  5. To become a champion, you need to win the ice rink (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner), already having this status.

125 points became the threshold for PMGC 2025. Alpha7 Esports, in fact, were the first to break through this figure and got a chance to close the tournament already in the 16th game. Then Alpha Gaming (in the 17th match) and ULF Esports (before the final rink) pulled up.

But here’s the irony: none of these teams, having a match point, was able to take the top 1 in the remaining games. No one was able to put a bold dot. As a result, the “insurance” worked — Alpha7 took the cup simply because they stupidly had the most points in the total of 18 games — 142 points. Victory is “by default”, but winners are not judged, right?

Roadmap 2026: Pakistan, Turkey and Ferrari

Okay, the tournament was sorted out in the analytical review — the Brazilians did well. But KRAFTON seems to have decided not to stop and dumped the 2026 roadmap. And there, I’ll tell you, there’s a lot to see.

Roadmap 2026 Pubg NEW

Insiders say that Rick Li, the producer of the game, decided to turn PUBG Mobile into a full-fledged ecosystem, and not just a “shooting game”.

Schedule and prize money for the 2026 season

The year 2026 will be divided into two halves. By the way, this is a complex and logical concept for team rotation.

PMGO (PUBG Mobile Global Open): There will be two seasons.

  • Season 1: Southeast Asia, prize money — $500,000.
  • Season 2: Going to Pakistan for the first time! There’s also half a million bucks at stake. This is a strong step for the region, it’s really cool.

Mid-year: Everyone is flying to Riyadh for the PUBG Mobile World Cup. The prize money is $3 million.

Final of the year: PMGC will be held in Turkey. They will also give away $3 million.

Plus, they promise more than 30 national championships in 8+ regions. That is, it will become easier to break into esports if you have a skill with a touch of talent, then of course.

New mode and Ferrari partnership

But not in single tournaments. The developers apparently realized that casual games also need content.

Fast Mode: A new 10-minute “Battle Royale” format has been announced. I went in, shot, and came out.

Ideal for those who don’t have time to sweat for half an hour in Erangel.

Ferrari partnership: Yes, you heard right. Scuderia Ferrari is coming to PUBG Mobile. Red cars on the battlefield — it will look epic (and expensive).

World of Wonder: Creators are allocated $10 million in the prize pool (Creator Pool). If you make cool custom maps, it’s time to monetize.

Future prospects

2026, apparently, will be the year of scaling. New regions (Pakistan, Turkey), new money for creators and simplified registration for tournaments directly from the client (finally!). Alpha7 set the bar this year, but looking at KRAFTON’s plans, the competition will be fierce next season.

In fact, the game turns into a car moving at maximum speed, where there is a place for both a pro player, a skin maker, and a fan of fast skating rinks. Let’s see how this will work in practice, but it sounds ambitious.
