The team of Steal a Brainrot, a Roblox game, sued the authors of a similar project, but already in Fortnite. The Aftermath portal was the first to announce this.
Steal a Brainrot from Spyder Games appeared back in May 2025. The idea is simple: you catch funny creatures from viral memes, plant them on the base and get money for improvements and cool things. If you’re too lazy to catch yourself, you can steal a monster from a neighbor. For those who like to change things, there is a place to roam – you can create your own cosmetics for the game. The project became wildly popular: online it jumped to 25.4 million people, and Roblox set a record that day – 47 million players at the same time.
As is usually the case, success led to the appearance of clones of Steal a Brainrot. Spyder Games, which has everything officially formalized, decided to show who’s in charge here, and sued one of these Fortnite clones. It’s funny that not the most famous clone, Stealing Brainrots, with only a couple hundred people online, got under distribution. The developers accuse its creators of copyright infringement.
But the funny thing is that Spyder Games didn’t touch another Fortnite game, Steal The Brainrot. Although the gameplay and the name are very similar. It’s just that the creators of this title were able to copyright their own version, so you can’t find fault with them.
