About Globant Emerald Team
Globant Emerald Team was a Latin American League of Legends organisation that competed in the LLA, the region’s premier professional competition. Now disbanded, the team was part of the top tier of the Latin American scene, a league that unifies talent from across the Spanish-speaking Americas and represents the region on the international stage at events such as the World Championship and the Mid-Season Invitational.
The LLA and Its Significance
The Liga Latinoamericana de League of Legends, or LLA, is the flagship circuit for Latin American League of Legends, bringing together the strongest organisations from a broad and passionate territory. Competing in it meant standing among the region’s elite, contesting split titles and vying for the coveted international qualification slots that allow LLA champions to test themselves against the best teams in the world. The league is followed by a fervent fan base and has produced numerous players who went on to represent the region abroad.
A Team of Its Era
As a former member of this competition, Globant Emerald Team occupied a place in the professional Latin American landscape before its operations came to an end. Backing from a recognisable corporate name reflected the growing commercial interest that has helped professionalise the region’s esports over the years, even as roster and organisational changes remained a constant feature of the scene.
The team is no longer active, and its disbandment mirrors the shifting nature of professional esports, where sponsorships, ownership structures and competitive fortunes can change the map from season to season.
Though Globant Emerald Team has passed into the history of the LLA, its participation contributed to the depth and competitiveness of Latin American League of Legends during its time. The organisation remains a part of the region’s ongoing story as it continues to grow and assert itself on the global stage.
