LYON beat Dignitas with a fast second game

LYON beat Dignitas 2-0 during the third week of the LCS Summer split. The second game ended in twenty-two minutes after LYON controlled every lane.

Berserker completed the series without a death. His Ezreal and Lucian performances gave LYON a reliable source of damage in two different games.

Both teams recorded similar kill totals in the first game

LYON and Dignitas each recorded seven champion eliminations during the opening game. The even total did not produce equal control of the map. LYON destroyed seven towers, while Dignitas took three. The structure difference created a safer route toward the final turret and nexus attacks. Dignitas continued contesting river positions and prevented a quick finish. LYON responded by moving through the open lanes instead of forcing repeated central fights. The game ended after twenty-eight minutes. LYON held the larger map even though the two teams had matched each other in eliminations.

Berserker selected Ezreal and finished with three eliminations, no deaths and no assists. His damage came from range during the decisive attacks. Ezreal could reposition without relying on every defensive spell from teammates. That freedom allowed LYON to place more protection around other lanes. Dignitas found seven eliminations but never removed the opposing marksman. Berserker remained alive during every major Baron, dragon and turret attack. His line was unusual because it contained no assists. The direct eliminations still mattered, while the wider lineup handled most of the setup.

LYON took an early lead in the second game

LYON reached eighteen eliminations in game two and allowed only three. The stronger early lanes removed Dignitas’s chance to repeat the slower opening pattern. The turret total reached ten to zero. Dignitas could not remove an outer structure before LYON entered the base. Every lost tower reduced the area available for safe farming. LYON placed deeper vision and identified Dignitas movements before the next turret attack. The second game ended in twenty-two minutes. It was six minutes shorter and far more decisive than the opener.

Armao played Wukong and finished with five eliminations, no deaths and ten assists. His entries grouped Dignitas players for the following damage. Isles recorded eighteen assists from support. He participated in every LYON elimination during the second game. Their work reduced the risk for Berserker’s Lucian. The marksman could attack after Dignitas had already used important control abilities. Berserker ended with eight eliminations, no deaths and four assists. LYON therefore had three players who completed the game without a death.

The two victories used different forms of control

Game one was decided through towers despite equal eliminations. LYON avoided wasting its map advantage in unnecessary fights. Game two offered no similar balance. Early wins produced more eliminations, every outer tower and a direct route into the base. Berserker remained the constant point across both drafts. Ezreal supplied safe range, while Lucian added more direct pressure after LYON gained control. Dignitas could not change that pattern. The team reached the marksman too rarely and lost more ground whenever the first attempt failed.

LYON and Dignitas each recorded seven kills during game one. A 7-3 turret advantage gave LYON the larger map despite the even kill total. Game two produced a much wider difference. LYON led 18-3 in kills and destroyed all ten turrets before the final attack. Berserker completed both games without a death. He used Ezreal in the opener and Lucian during the faster second victory. The series lasted fifty minutes in total. LYON won the opener through structures and the second game through immediate lane control.

LYON destroyed the outer turrets in every lane

Dignitas destroyed no turret during game two. Every outer structure remained available to LYON’s pressure until it was removed. Advancing minion waves forced Dignitas to divide its defenders. LYON then entered the jungle with stronger vision and safer routes.

Armao and Isles connected those movements from jungle and support. Their engages created space for Berserker’s Lucian. LYON reached the nexus after twenty-two minutes. The final attack followed control of all three lanes.

The series lasted only fifty minutes

The first game took twenty-eight minutes and the second required twenty-two. LYON therefore completed both victories within fifty minutes of play. A short series reduces the number of late-game situations available for review. It also shows how quickly LYON converted the larger second-game lead.

Dignitas now has two different defeats to study. One was lost through structures, while the other moved away through every lane.
