The Story of Xayah
A War for a Dwindling People
Xayah fights a war most of Runeterra never sees. As a vastayan revolutionary, she has taken it upon herself to defend a tribe that keeps shrinking, moving fast and striking with blades shaped like feathers. Speed and cunning matter more to her than raw power — she is built to cut down threats before they can regroup, and to disappear before any retaliation lands.
Rakan and the Fight Ahead
She doesn’t fight alone. Her partner Rakan shares both her cause and her life, standing with her as she works toward rebuilding her people into something closer to what they once were. That partnership shapes how she approaches every battle in Ionia, a homeland still recovering from years of conflict — for Xayah, protecting what remains of her tribe means never letting her guard down, even beside someone she trusts completely.
Her kit turns feathers into both weapon and warning. Clean Cuts causes her first basic attack after any ability to strike everything in its path and drop a feather where it lands. Double Daggers throws a pair of blades that seed more feathers as they fly. Deadly Plumage whips up a storm of blades that speeds up her attacks and her feet once she lands a hit on an enemy champion. Bladecaller recalls every feather she’s dropped, dealing damage and rooting anyone struck by three or more on the way back — a payoff for patient positioning rather than button-mashing. Featherstorm, her ultimate, launches her into the air where nothing can target her, scattering a fan of daggers and yet more feathers as she comes back down. Taken together, the kit rewards exactly the kind of controlled aggression her cause demands: strike, retreat, and make the enemy pay for following. Enemies are taught to keep moving against her rather than settle in one spot, since long fights fought over the same ground let her feathers pile up fast, and to keep their nerve during Featherstorm — its brief window of untargetability can flip a rushed kill attempt entirely in her favor.
