The Story of Rakan
Wild festivals in the Ionian highlands tend to have one thing in common: Rakan showed up.
The vastayan showman is remembered among the humans of Ionia — a land shaped by natural magic and spiritual balance, still recovering the harmony that war took from it — less as a fighter than as a phenomenon, his name attached to uncontrollable parties, anarchic music, and festivals that ran longer than anyone planned. As the finest battle-dancer the Lhotlan tribe has produced, he treats combat with the same theatrical energy he brings to a crowd, unpredictable by design.
Few of the people caught up in his performances would guess that this same restless entertainer is partner to Xayah, a rebel with a far more serious cause, and that he has thrown himself fully behind it. The contrast is part of what makes him effective: nobody expects the life of the party to also be dangerous.
Rakan supports on mana, and his fighting style keeps that same unpredictable rhythm. Gleaming Quill flings a magical feather that deals damage at range, and striking a champion or epic monster with it lets him heal his allies. Grand Entrance dashes him to a location and knocks up any nearby enemies the instant he arrives. Battle Dance flies him to an allied champion, shielding them, and can be recast for free within a short window afterward. The Quickness, his ultimate, grants a burst of Move Speed while charming and damaging every enemy he touches along the way. Fey Feathers, his passive, quietly rebuilds a shield around him over time — a performer who always has one more trick ready before the crowd notices he needed it. Every dash he throws telegraphs its landing spot, and speeds up alongside his own rising Move Speed, which rewards enemies who can read the arc early and punish it with fast crowd control; catch him without an ally standing nearby to enable his tools, and most of that mobility disappears along with the audience he depends on.
