The Story of Jax
Sarcasm is not usually a weapon, but Jax wields it as comfortably as he wields whatever oddly-shaped armament happens to be in his hands. He is remembered, when he is remembered accurately at all, as the last known weapons master of Icathia — a place that no longer exists in any form worth visiting.
Icathia’s fall was self-inflicted: its people reached for power they didn’t understand and tore open a path for the Void to pour through. Jax and the few who survived that mistake made a quiet vow afterward to guard whatever scraps of the world remained, a promise that has kept him moving for far longer than any one lifetime should allow.
Magic is rising again across Runeterra, and with it, the old threat Icathia once unleashed is stirring back to life. Jax treats this less like an emergency and more like an excuse to test people. He wanders the world carrying the last remnant of his homeland’s light, and measures every warrior he crosses paths with by one simple question: are they strong enough to stand next to him when it matters.
His fighting style rewards exactly that kind of confidence. Relentless Assault builds Attack Speed with every consecutive swing, Leap Strike closes distance onto any unit — friend or foe — and Empower loads extra force into his next hit. Counter Strike lets him shrug off a flurry of attacks before stunning everyone around him, and his ultimate, Grandmaster-at-Arms, layers bonus magic damage onto every third strike while hardening his resolve mid-fight. It is a kit built for someone who has already survived the end of his own world and no longer sees much reason to hold back.
Jax plays as a top-lane fighter who spends mana rather than energy or fury, an odd fit for a weapons master who otherwise seems to have no patience for convention. That mismatch between what he uses to fuel his spells and how he actually fights — on pure consecutive-strike aggression — is part of what makes him so hard to prepare for.
