Illaoi

Illaoi’s size is the first thing anyone notices about her. Her faith is the part that actually explains her. She serves the Great Kraken as its prophet, carrying a huge golden idol into every fight and using it to rip an opponent’s spirit clean out of their body — a way of forcing enemies to confront a truth they’d rather not face.

That title, the Truth Bearer of Nagakabouros, is not an honorary one. Illaoi never fights alone, whatever the numbers on the field suggest, because the god of the Serpent Isles is said to fight alongside her in every battle she takes on whether that is among the pirates and monster hunters of Bilgewater or far beyond its lawless harbor.

Her kit makes that partnership literal. Tentacles, tied to her passive, Prophet of an Elder God, erupt from impassable terrain near her and near the Vessels she creates, lashing out at spirits and victims alike. Tentacle Smash increases their damage and lets her slam one down directly onto a target, Harsh Lesson has her leap into an enemy while nearby Tentacles join the assault, and Test of Spirit is the ability that defines her — tearing a foe’s spirit loose so it stands separately from its body, echoing a share of any damage it takes back onto the original target. Her ultimate, Leap of Faith, smashes her idol into the ground and spawns a fresh Tentacle for every enemy champion caught in the impact, turning a single engagement into a growing swarm of golden limbs.

As a Fighter-Tank built for the top lane, Illaoi doesn’t need to out-duel anyone directly. She just needs enough Tentacles standing to make sure the fight was never really fair to begin with — which, given who she answers to, is rather the point. Fueled by mana rather than any ordinary reserve of stamina, Illaoi wins converts as readily as she wins fights.
