The Story of Gwen
Everything Gwen fights with used to make her. Scissors, needles, thread — the same tools a maker once used to stitch her together as a doll are now hers to wield, brought to life along with her by magic she still doesn’t fully understand.
A Small Protection
She carries the memory of that maker’s love in every step, and treats it as something too precious to take for granted. Around her, an ancient magic called the Hallowed Mist has blessed her tools with a kind of protection: within it, Gwen is difficult for enemies to reach at all, and her ability of the same name summons that shroud to shield her from anything outside its edge — though enemies who step inside can still find her.
Small Cuts, Whole Cloth
Her offense works the same way her signature passive does: in increments. A Thousand Cuts adds bonus magic damage to her attacks scaled to a target’s health and heals her back for a portion of it, so sustained pressure matters more than any single hit. Snip Snip! lets her scissor through a cone up to six times, dealing true damage to anything caught dead center, while Skip ‘n Slash sends her dashing in before a brief window of bonus attack speed, range, and on-hit magic damage — a window that resets if she connects. Her ultimate, Needlework, throws a slowing, damaging needle that can be recast twice more, each throw layering on her passive.
Set against the ruin of the Shadow Isles, a blighted archipelago wrapped in the Black Mist, Gwen’s determination reads almost like defiance — a small, newly-living thing choosing to fight for whatever good is still left in a place defined by loss, armed with nothing more exotic than a maker’s old sewing kit and holding her ground in the top lane as a Fighter powered, unusually, by mana rather than muscle alone.
