The Story of Gragas
Nobody seems to know where Gragas actually came from. He turned up in the Freljord already massive, already rowdy, and already searching its frozen wastes for ingredients to improve whatever he’s currently brewing — a project that never really ends, since there’s always a latest concoction waiting for the next batch. It is a strange place to go looking for anything to celebrate, given how harsh and unforgiving that stretch of ice and warring tribes can be, but Gragas has never let his surroundings dictate his mood.
He treats the results the way he treats most things: generously, and without much restraint. Gragas starts brawls the way other people start conversations, and they tend to resolve the same way every time — an all-night party, a fair amount of property damage, and everyone involved slightly worse for it in the morning. That sequence is reliable enough that his presence alone is usually read as a warning: good times first, wreckage after.
His kit plays out the same pattern in miniature. Barrel Roll sends a cask rolling out that grows more dangerous the longer it sits before someone sets it off, Drunken Rage has him down a mouthful of his own brew to fuel a heavier hit, and Body Slam is exactly what it sounds like — a charge that ends with Gragas colliding into the nearest unlucky target and stunning everyone around them. His ultimate, Explosive Cask, is the biggest party favor of all, hurling a barrel that knocks back anyone caught in the blast. Happy Hour, his passive, keeps him topped off by healing him each time he uses a skill, which is fitting for a Fighter-Mage who treats a fight the same way he treats a bar tab: no real limit until something finally breaks. Splitting his time between the top lane and mid, Gragas never seems to run short on either ingredients or opponents willing to test him.
